Grasp tight eternal life with two hands!

A. Main scriptures for this study: 1 Cor.15:19-26

1. If only for this life we have hope in Christ, we are to be pitied more than all men! 1 Cor.15:19

2. Christ has indeed been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who have fallen asleep. 15:20

3. For since death came through a man, the resurrection of the dead comes also through a man. 15:21

5. But each in his own turn: Christ, the first fruits; then, when he comes, those who belong to him. 15:23

6. Then the end will come, when he hands over the kingdom to God the Father after he has destroyed all

dominion, authority and power. For he must reign until he has put all his enemies under his feet. 24-25

7. The last enemy to be destroyed is death. 1 Cor.15:26

B. Jesus said: I am the bread of life. John 6:48

1. Your forefathers ate the manna in the desert, yet they died. John 6:49

2. Jn 6:50 But here is the bread that comes down from heaven, which a man may eat and not die.

Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day. 6:54

4. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your forefathers ate manna and died, but he who

feeds on this bread will live forever." John 6:58

5. The Spirit gives life; the flesh counts for nothing.

The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life. John 6:63

6. In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. John 1:1

7. The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the

One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14

give you. On him God the Father has placed his seal of approval. John 6:27

C. Who can get eternal life?

1. When the Gentiles heard this, they were glad and honored the word of the Lord; and all who were

appointed for eternal life believed. Acts 13:48

2. To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and immortality, he will give eternal life. Ro.2:7

Take hold means grasp tight with two hands.

7. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that

you have eternal life. 1 John 5:13

D. 7 brothers married one woman to make the point! Luke 20:27-39

1. Some of the Sadducees, who say there is no resurrection, came to Jesus with a question. 20:27

2. They asked: Teacher Moses wrote for us that if a man's brother dies and leaves a wife but no

children, the man must marry the widow and have children for his brother. 20:28

3. Now there were seven brothers. The first one married a woman and died childless. The second and

then the third married her, and in the same way the seven died, leaving no children.

Finally, the woman died too. Luke 20:29-32

4. Now then, at the resurrection whose wife will she be, since the seven were married to her? Lk20-:33

5. Jesus replied: The people of this age marry and are given in marriage. But those who are considered

worthy of taking part in that age and in the resurrection from the dead will neither marry nor be

given in marriage, and they can no longer die; for they are like the angels.

They are God's children, since they are children of the resurrection. Luke 20:34-36

6. But in the account of the bush, even Moses showed that the dead rise, for he calls the Lord `the God

of Abraham, and the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob. He is not the God of the dead, but of the

living, for to him all are alive." Luke 20:37-38

E. Conclusion: So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be

found spotless, blameless and at peace with him. 2 Peter 3:14
