What to do when sudden disaster happened!?

What to do when sudden disaster happened!?

At least be psychologically prepared!

While people are saying, "Peace and safety," destruction will come on them suddenly,

as labor pains on a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. 1 Thes.5:3

A. So how do we prepare?

1. Jesus said: Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me. John 14:1

2. One night the Lord spoke to Paul in a vision: Do not be afraid; keep on speaking, do not be silent.

For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this

city."  So Paul stayed for a year and a half, teaching them the word of God. Acts 18:9-11

3. You, however, know all about my teaching, my way of life, my purpose, faith, patience, love,

endurance, persecutions, sufferings-- what kinds of things happened to me in Antioch, Iconium and

Lystra, the persecutions I endured. Yet the Lord rescued me from all of them.

In fact, everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. 2 Tim.3:10-12

4. A split second of letting loose can be a fatal disaster!

    a. I suspect, Satan wants me dead since the day I was born.

        I lived pass many perils!

I fell into pits between hills, I was able to climb out by myself.

    b. I faced a pack of wild dogs by myself, I used my shirt to block the dogs from biting me,

I kicked its nose with my foot, pick up stones to scare them away…

    c. Here is the most recent one, 2 weeks ago, at 3 a.m. I went up stair to set the thermostat higher.

On the way down, at one split second of letting loose, I slipped flew down the stairway, my butt hit

the middle step and bounced all the way down to the floor. Then my back bounced back and hit the

last 2 steps. I thought, finally, just this one split second of letting loose, I am finished!

Because of the loud noise, my wife rushed out to see me on the floor.

        She asked: What happened?

I came to myself, felt all over my body and said, surprise, thank God, I am not hurt!

I lived in this house for 38 years, this is the first time I remember, I counted the steps!

The stairway has 13 steps! So the middle step is #7 either way you count it.

    d. I believe some young people here can do the same and not hurt!

Slip fly down from the top land your butt on step #7, then bounced down to the floor and bounce

back and hit your back on the last 2 steps and not hurt.

The most important part is when you land your butt on the middle step you must be perfect!

       Otherwise, disaster!

But if you are like me, over 75, you do not want to try!

As for me, I have to be more always on the watch and pray.

I have to pray that God will not let me try this one more time!

B. How can we prepare for sudden disasters!?

1. Be always on the watch, and pray that you may be able to escape all that is about to happen,

and that you may be able to stand before the Son of Man. Luke 21:36

2. But still, how is it possible, not even let loose for one split second!

Yes, no matter how watchful you want to be, still that split second of letting loose will happen!

3. It is important to believe Jesus and rely on the Father to save us from that split second disasters!

4. It is too hard to be perfect!  It is humanly impossible to be perfect all the time!

This is precisely how insurance companies use to make you pay much so they can enjoy big houses!

C. Jesus taught us to pray this way! Matt.6:9-13

1. This is how you should pray!

Our Father in heaven, hallowed be thy name. Matt.6:9

2. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.  Matt.6:10

3. Give us today our daily bread. Matt.6:11

4. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. Matt.6:12

5. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power,

and the glory, for ever. Amen. Matt.6:13

Conclusion: Always remember--> God is faithful and just.

This is God’s promise. 1 Cor.10:13

There hath no temptation taken you but such as man can bear: but God is faithful,

who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able;

but will with the temptation make also the way of escape, that ye may be able to endure it.

Let us all be reminded one more time!

Because of one split second of letting loose, sudden disaster happened. What you do?

When you are at peace and safety, be always on the watch and pray.

Like people buy health insurance, just this one you do not have to pay monthly fees.

You can pay $250 for Psychiatrist to tell you the same thing.

Always be on the watch and pray can train your body to tighten up in split second disaster!

Just what they say will not be as effective!

Always remember, we have to rely on God to save us from all the disasters because of our split second letting loose!

I really, really thank God, for his last incident! Today is April 30, 2015.

May the Lord bless you and keep you always!  Preach this May 3, 2015.
