Subject: From these scriptures recognize why it is better these people do not believe Jesus?
Yes, believe Jesus is a great blessing! You never worry about sleeping wellà peace of mind!
You seek ye first the kingdom and his righteousness. All these thing will be added unto you!
But if you don’t do it right! It is a two edged sword!
1. John 8:31-32--> Jesus therefore said to those Jews that having believed him: If ye abide in my word, (then) are ye truly my disciples;
and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.
These are people who want to believe Jesus but cannot abide in Jesus’ teaching!
Jesus said, they belong to the devil. They love to do the will of the devil! John 8:43-44
It is better these people never believe Jesus!
2. Matt.23:13-16--> But woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! because ye shut the kingdom of heaven against men:
for ye enter not in yourselves, neither suffer ye them that are entering in to enter.
(Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye devour widows' houses, even while for a pretence ye make long prayers:
therefore ye shall receive greater condemnation.)
Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte;
and when he is become so, ye make him twofold more a son of hell than yourselves.
Woe unto you, ye blind guides, that say, Whosoever shall swear by the temple, it is nothing; but whosoever shall swear by the gold of the temple, he is a debtor.
***Obviously these are enemies of the cross!
3. 1 Peter 4:1-2--> Forasmuch then as Christ suffered in the flesh, arm ye yourselves also with the same mind;
for he that hath suffered in the flesh hath ceased from sin; that ye no longer should live the rest of your time in flesh to the lusts of men, but to the will of God.
4. 1 Cor.6:12 -->
Everything is permissible for me-- but not everything is beneficial.
Everything is permissible for me-- but I will not be mastered by anything.
Addicted to something in the world, is a show lack of determination in following Jesus!
5. 1 Tim.6:10 and Heb.13:5, Matt.6:24-->
For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some people, eager for money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many grief.
Heb 13:5 Keep your lives free from the love of money and be content with what you have, because God has said: Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you.
Matt 6:24 "No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other.
You cannot serve both God and Money.
Money lovers better not believe Jesus. Their hearts will always be where their money is!
7. Luke 6:46 Why do you call me, `Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say?
How do we show that we love money more than love the Lord?
8. 1 John 2:15 Do not love the world or anything in the world.
If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.
How to tell people love the world more than they love God?
9. Ro 8:12-13 So then, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live after the flesh: for if ye live after the flesh, ye must die;
but if by the Spirit ye put to death the deeds of the body, ye shall live.
How do we tell people live to their flesh?
10. James 4:4 Ye adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God?
Whosoever therefore would be a friend of the world make himself an enemy of God.
11. Phil 3:18-19 For many walk, of whom I told you often, and now tell you even weeping, (that they are) the enemies of the cross of Christ:
whose end is perdition, whose god is the belly, and (whose) glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.
12. Ac 20:29-32 --> I know that after I leave, savage wolves will come in among you and will not spare the flock.
Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them.
So be on your guard! Remember that for three years I never stopped warning each of you night and day with tears.
Now I commit you to God and to the word of his grace, which can build you up and give you an inheritance among all those who are sanctified.
There is one way to protect ourselves in our salvation! God through the word can build you up!
