Rid violence and set at liberty them that are bruised! (1)
(No more weak meat is for the strong to eat!?)
This sermon comes from the inspiration of this scripture! Luke 4:18-19
Jesus said: The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he has sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering
of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised. To preach the acceptable year of the Lord.
Preface: Jesus’ set this example for us! To do the job we need the Spirit of the Lord to be upon us!
Nowadays, it is filled with the truth in the New Testament Bible! 1 John 5:7, John 17:17
From John 5:30 we know Jesus said: By myself I can do nothing; I judge only as I hear, and my judgment is just, for I seek not to please myself but him who sent me.
From Phil.4:13 we know: I can do all things in him who strengthened me.
Remember the line printed on American Currency? In God We Trust!
It is to say, America is a country established to rid violence and set at liberty them that are bruised!
America is a country established to see that ‘justice for all’ is practiced!
Read the imprint on the wall behind the seat of the judge in every courtroom!
Remember Romans 14:17, the church of Christ is not about eating and drinking,
The church of Christ is about righteousness and peace and joy in the Lord!
America is to be exactly the same as the church of Christ!
All officials swear into office always place their left hand on a Bible, raise right hand and say:
May God help me! It is to say, with the help of God, I will see that justice for all is practiced!
This is how we can rid violence and set at liberty them that are bruised!
A. Believe the almighty God is the source of our power!
1. A little bear play in the field. A strong lion found him alone, trying to eat him. He ran for his life!
2. Came to a stream. He hurried through the water onto a small high place in the middle of the steam.
3. The big lion closing in and about to kill him. He stood up and roared as loud as he could.
4. The lion paw is about to kill him! Suddenly the lion turn around and ran away from him.
5. He thought his loud roar had scared the lion away.
6. But when he look behind him, he saw his giant mother stood on the other side of the stream waving
her paws in the air and roar at the same time!
B. Utilize accepted nature, reason and reality!
One real life case for illustration:
1. On the same floor of a Government resettlement housing where I lived, there were 2 families!
2. One with 11 little boys and a daughter who is oldest! The parents were weak and weary!
3. The other family had 3 older boys and the father was strong.
4. This strong family kept bully the weak and weary family!
5. One day, I walked to this strong family! I say, Mr. so and so. I think you have to stop bully them!
6, You must know, their 11 boys will grow up and become strong, you will grow old and become weak!
7. Just in case 2 or 3 of these boys decide to die with you one day. Your family can be wiped out!
They still have 9 or 10! He was scared and stopped! At the time I was in my junior high school!
8. Somehow I realize our world is an animal’s kingdom where the strong eat the weak!
9. The strong and wicked can grow old and become weak too! They have more reason to be scared!
C. Demons have more reason to be afraid! Luke 8:28
1. When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell at his feet, shouting at the top of his voice:
What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, don't torture me!
2. 2000 demons in this man! But he was scare of Jesus to torture him! Mark 5:15
As we can see demons torture other people but afraid to be torture!
D. Paradise and Hell human is free to choose!
1. Hell, eternal fire, is prepared for Satan and his demons! Matt.25:43
2. Heaven is prepared for the saved in the Lord. Remember the saved are in the church of Christ.
3. The choice is clear. John 5:28-29--> Those done good will rise to live.
Those done evil will rise to be condemned!
Conclusion:
May the world forever know, times of refreshing comes from the presence of the Lord. Acts 2:19
Human has tried thousands of years to have times of refreshing many other ways, failed!
America spend 6010 billion prepare for war to keep peace each year, you know what happened!
When America become exactly the same as the church of Christ, violence is wipe out!
240 years had gone by, building a strong America to rid violence and set at liberty them that are
bruised is a total lost and hopeless!
Now we can only have a little bit times of refreshing when we come to the church of Christ!
