Subject: Why do people not respond to this kind of preaching?!
A. Preaching God’s word like this!
1. According to Acts 17:26 God decide how long each man is to live!
2. According to Gen.2:7 Man was created as a living soul. Gen.2:7
3. According to 1 Thes.5:23 A man has 3 lives--> spirit and soul and body.
4. According to James 2:26 A man without the spirit, the body is dead.
5. According to Ecc.12:7, When man’s body is dead, his spirit returns to God who gave it.
6. Also according to Ecc.12:7 When man’s body is dead, it return to dust.
B. According to Luke 16:22-31
A man’s soul has two places to go his body is dead--> Heaven Paradise or Hell Hades.
1. According to Matt.25:41 Hell Hades was prepared for Satan and its people!
2. According to 1 Tim.2:4 The Father in Heaven wish no man go to Hell Hades!
3. According to Heb.9:24 Heaven Paradise is where God lives.
4. According to 1 John 1:9 God is faithful and righteous.
5. According to 1 John 3:10 God’s children are people in Christ doing righteousness.
6. According to Acts 2:47 The Lord added the saved into the church of Christ.
7. According to Heb.4:12 God’s word is living and active. Sharper than double-edged sword!
God’s word penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow;
it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.
8. According to Heb.1:3 God’s word is powerful, it sustains all things!
9. According to James 1:21 God’s word is able to save souls!
C. According to Acts 13:48 Gentiles heard God’s word, they were glad and glorified it!
And as many as were ordained to eternal life believed.
1. According to Acts 14:1 In Iconium many Jews and Greeks heard God’s word believed!
2. According to Acts 17:11-13
The Beareans responded to God’s work this way!
These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind,
and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so.
Therefore many of them believed; also of honorable women which were Greeks, and of men, not a few.
But when the Jews of Thessalonica had knowledge that the word of God was preached of Paul at Berea,
they came thither also, and stirred up the people.
3. John 20:29 Then Jesus told him: Because you have seen me, you have believed;
blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.
D. Conclusion: Why don’t people respond to God’s word the same way!?
