How harden can human heart be hardened?
Main scriptures for this study: Matt.13:10-17
1. For it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven, but to them it is not given.Mt.13:11
2. For this people’s heart has become calloused. They hardly hear with their ears, and they have closed their
eyes. Otherwise they might see with their eyes, hear with their ears, understand with their hearts and turn,
and I will heal them. Matt.13:15
3. But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. Matt.13:16
4. For I tell you the truth, many prophets and righteous men longed to see what you see but did not see it, and
to hear what you hear but did not hear it. Matt.13:17
A. How harden can human heart be hardened?
1. A man's enemies will be the members of his own household. Matt.10:36
2. Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child.
Children will rebel against their parents and have them put to death. Mark 13:12
3. All men will hate you because of me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved. Mark 13:13
4. These descriptions replay all the time in funeral ceremonies!
B. How calloused can human heart be!
1. All the time family members of the dead comfort themselves by saying so and so I will see you in
Heaven Paradise again someday!
2. In the meantime they determined not to be with the dead in the same church follow Jesus the same way!
3. They think: I walk toward South, you walks toward North. Eventually we will meet at the exact same point!
4. Yes, theoretically in geography this can be truth! But who really tried in their daily living?
5. Jesus said: I am the way, the truth and the life! Jn.14:6 Heaven Paradise is one way up, not around the earth!
C. In the meantime how blessed can people in the church of Christ be?
1. But blessed are your eyes because they see, and your ears because they hear. Matt.13:16
2. For I tell you the truth, many prophets and righteous men longed to see what you see but did not see it, and
to hear what you hear but did not hear it. Matt.13:17
3. Once again you personally witnessed words in the Bible are truth! 2 Tim.3:1-5
4. But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2 Tim.3:1
Last days means period of times. It is last days, because after this there no more human days!
The end of these last days is the end of the world!
5. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents,
ungrateful, unholy, 2 Tim.3:2
6. without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good, treacherous,
rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God-- having a form of godliness but denying its
power. Have nothing to do with them. 2 Tim.3:3-5
a. Lovers of themselves. “Themselves” may include one side of family members if married.
b. Lovers of money. The love of money is the root of all kinds of evil! 1 Tim.6:10
c. People come to N.Y.C. single minded to make American money!
How many realize In God We Trust is printed on all currency!
d. Lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.
How many came to N.Y.C. look for church of Christ to worship?
D. Conclusion: Souls in Hell Hades may keep begging forever, but it is useless!
1. Souls in Hades begged! Luke 16:22-31
Then I beg you, father, send Lazarus to my father's house, for I have five brothers.
2. Let him warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.
3. Abraham replied: They have Moses and the Prophets; let them listen to them.
4. He said: No, father Abraham, but if someone from the dead goes to them, they will repent. Lk.16:30
5. He said to him: If they do not listen to Moses and the Prophets, they will not be convinced even
if someone rises from the dead. Luke 16:31
6. Yes, how harden can our family member’s heart be hardened!
They will not be convinced even if someone rises from the dead! Luke 16:31
We all can witness this reality in all funeral services!
