How dangerous can it be to worship a wrong god?!
Preface:
1. Chinese idiom says: Woman fear to marry a wrong man. Man fear to enter a wrong profession.
2. I think all human should be afraid to follow a wrong religion worship a wrong god.
3. For married a wrong man or enter a wrong profession the worst suffering is life on earth!
4. Follow a wrong religion worship a wrong god, the suffering is in hell forever!
5. As Jesus said: Hell was prepared for the devil and its people! No human have to enter! Mt.25:41
A. Human common sense tells us these!
1. Follow a wrong religion worship a wrong god is much worst than to call a wrong man father!
2. It would be the utmost insult to his father.
3. It would be the utmost insult to his mother.
4. It would be the utmost insult to his own intelligence!
B. Normal human can smell this danger in these scriptures! Heb.10:24-31
1. Let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works, Heb.10:24
2. Not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting (one another);
and so much the more, as ye see the day drawing nigh. Heb.10:25
3. For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remain no more
a sacrifice for sins, but a certain fearful expectation of judgment, and a fierceness of fire which shall
devour the adversaries. Heb.10:26-27
4. A man that hath set at nought Moses law dieth without compassion on (the word of) two or three
witnesses: of how much sorer punishment, think ye, shall he be judged worthy, who hath trodden
under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant wherewith he was sanctified
an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? Heb.10:28-29
5. For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongs unto me, I will recompense, said the Lord.
And again, The Lord shall judge his people. Heb.10:30
6. It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Heb.10:31
C. Apostle Paul has this to say about this.
1. Paul then stood up in the meeting of the Areopagus and said: Men of Athens! I see that in every
way you are very religious. Acts 17:22
2. For as I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship, I even found an altar with
this inscription: TO AN UNKNOWN GOD. Now what you worship as something unknown I am
going to proclaim to you. Acts 17:23
3. The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live
in temples built by hands. Acts 17:24
4. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men
life and breath and everything else. Acts 17:25
5. From one man he made every nation of men, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he
determined the times set for them and the exact places where they should live. Acts 17:26
6. God did this so that men would seek him and perhaps reach out for him and find him,
though he is not far from each one of us. Acts 17:27
7. `For in him we live and move and have our being.'
As some of your own poets have said, `We are his offspring.' Acts 17:28
8. Therefore since we are God's offspring, we should not think that the divine being is like gold or
silver or stone-- an image made by man's design and skill. Acts 17:29
9. In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all people everywhere to repent.
For he has set a day when he will judge the world with justice by the man he has appointed.
He has given proof of this to all men by raising him from the dead. Acts 17:31
D. Conclusion: All human must beware of these! Deu.6:14-15
Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you; for the LORD your God, who is among
you, is a jealous God and his anger will burn against you, and he will destroy you from the face of the land.
