Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the
family of believers. Gal.6:9-10
7. Therefore, it is imperative that Jesus’ believers build natural affection in the Lord!
A. Jesus’ personal example. Matt.12:46-50
1. While Jesus was still talking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside,
wanting to speak to him. Matt.12:46

waiting to kill him. John 7:1

according to the flesh. Ro.9:3

1. I appeal to you for my son Onesimus, who became my son while I was in chains. Philemon 1:10
2. Formerly he was useless to you, but now he has become useful both to you and to me. 1:11
3. I am sending him-- who is my very heart-- back to you. Philemon 1:12
4. I would have liked to keep him with me so that he could take your place in helping me while I am
in chains for the gospel. Philemon 1:13
5. But I did not want to do anything without your consent, so that any favor you do will be spontaneous
and not forced. Philemon 1:14
6. For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou should receive him for ever; 1:15
7. Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more
unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord? Philemon 1:16

10. Confident of your obedience, I write to you, knowing that you will do even more than I ask. 1:21
E. How natural affection in the Lord is built?
2. Born into the family biblically is number one important. John 1:12-13
As many as received him, to them gave he the right to become children of God, to them that believe on
his name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.
3. Be a part of the work of the Lord in a locality and spent time together! Acts 2:1, 20:7
4. Rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind
and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Eph.4:31-32
5. Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us
and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Eph.5:1-2
May the Lord bless you and keep you always. Preach this January 3, 2016.
