2. Yes, believe, repent and be baptized for forgiveness of sins and receive gift of Holy Spirit. Ac.2:38

3. Yes, forsake assembling of ourselves worthy of heavier punishment. Heb.10:25-29

4. Without natural affection is a sin worthy of death too! Ro.1:31-32

5. One does not provide for his family is worse than an unbeliever! 1 Tim.5:8

6. Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the

    family of believers. Gal.6:9-10

7. Therefore, it is imperative that Jesus’ believers build natural affection in the Lord!

A. Jesus’ personal example. Matt.12:46-50

1. While Jesus was still talking to the crowd, his mother and brothers stood outside,

wanting to speak to him. Matt.12:46

2. Someone told him: Your mother and brothers are standing outside, wanting to speak to you.  12:47

3. Jesus replied: Who is my mother, and who are my brothers? Matt.12:48

4. Pointing to his disciples, he said: Here are my mother and my brothers. Matt.12:49

5. For whoever does the will of my Father in heaven is my brother and sister and mother.  Matt.12:50

B. See these then you will understand! John 7:1-3

1. Jesus went around in Galilee, purposely staying away from Judea because the Jews there were

waiting to kill him. John 7:1

2. But Jesus' brothers said to him: You ought to leave here and go to Judea, …  John 7:2-3

3. Brother will betray brother to death, and a father his child; children will rebel against their parents

have them put to death. Matt.10:21

C. Natural affection and salvation of the soul.

1. I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience bearing witness with me in the Holy Spirit. Ro.9:1

2. I have great sorrow and unceasing pain in my heart.  Ro.9:2

For I could wish that I myself were cut off from Christ for my brethren's sake, my kinsmen

    according to the flesh. Ro.9:3

3. Brothers, my heart's desire and prayer to God for the Israelites is that they may be saved. Ro.10:1

4. People suffer in Hades still had natural affection! Luke 16:22-31

This man begged for his brothers whom still living so that they may not be in Hades with him!

D. Natural affection at its best between Paul, Philemon and Onesimus! Philemon 1:10-22

1. I appeal to you for my son Onesimus, who became my son while I was in chains. Philemon 1:10

2. Formerly he was useless to you, but now he has become useful both to you and to me. 1:11

3. I am sending him-- who is my very heart-- back to you.  Philemon 1:12

4. I would have liked to keep him with me so that he could take your place in helping me while I am

in chains for the gospel.  Philemon 1:13

5. But I did not want to do anything without your consent, so that any favor you do will be spontaneous

    and not forced.  Philemon 1:14

6. For perhaps he therefore departed for a season, that thou should receive him for ever; 1:15

7. Not now as a servant, but above a servant, a brother beloved, specially to me, but how much more

unto thee, both in the flesh, and in the Lord? Philemon 1:16

8. So if you consider me a partner, welcome him as you would welcome me.  Philemon 1:17

9. If he has done you any wrong or owes you anything, charge it to me. Philemon 1:18

10. Confident of your obedience, I write to you, knowing that you will do even more than I ask. 1:21

E. How natural affection in the Lord is built?

2. Born into the family biblically is number one important. John 1:12-13

As many as received him, to them gave he the right to become children of God, to them that believe on

his name: who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

3. Be a part of the work of the Lord in a locality and spent time together! Acts 2:1, 20:7

4. Rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind

and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Eph.4:31-32

5. Be imitators of God, therefore, as dearly loved children and live a life of love, just as Christ loved us

and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. Eph.5:1-2

May the Lord bless you and keep you always.  Preach this January 3, 2016.
