Building natural affection between husband and wife.
A. At the creation!
1. God created the man Adam! Gen.2:7
2. With the man's rib God created a woman as a help meet for him. Gen.2:18-22
3. The woman is bone of bones and flesh of flesh to the man. Gen.2:23
4. Therefore, shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife. And the two shall
become one flesh! Gen.2:24
5. This is how children are to be born!
Adam lay with his wife Eve, and she became pregnant and gave birth to Cain.
She said: With the help of the LORD I have brought forth a man. Gen.4:1
6. Later she gave birth to his brother Abel. Now Abel kept flocks, and Cain worked the soil. Gen.4:2
7. This is the book of the generations of Adam. In the day that God created man, in the likeness of God
made them male and female created he them, and blessed them, and called their name Adam,
in the day when they were created. Gen.5:1-2
B. Jesus explained in Matt.19:4-6
1. The Pharisees also came unto him, tempting him, and saying to him:\
Is it lawful for a man to put away his wife for every cause? Matt.19:3
2. And he answered and said unto them: Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning
made them male and female, Matt.19:4
3. And said: For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife:
and the two shall be one flesh? Matt.19:5
4. They are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate. 19:6
5. Apostle Paul explained what does it mean ‘the two shall become one flesh’ mean! 1 Cor.16:6
Do you not know that he who unites himself with a prostitute is one with her in body?
For it is said: The two will become one flesh.
C. The role of the man, the husband.
1, For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will
become one flesh. Eph.5:31
2. Even so ought husbands also to love their own wives as their own bodies.
He that loves his own wife loves himself: Eph.5:28
3. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife;
and the two shall become one flesh. Eph.5:31
4. This mystery is great: but I speak in regard of Christ and of the church. However, each one of you
also must love his wife as he loves himself, and the wife must respect her husband. Eph.5:32-33
D. Wives, submit to your husbands as to the Lord. Eph5:22
1. As the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. Eph.5:24
2. Wives, submit to your husbands, as is fitting in the Lord. Col.3”18
3. They can train the younger women to love their husbands and children. Titus 2:4
4. Wives, in the same way be submissive to your husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word,
they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives. 1 Peter 3:1
E. It is good for a man not to united himself with a woman. 1 Cor.7:1
1. But, because of fornications, let each man have his own wife, and let each woman have her own
husband. 1 Cor.7:2
2. Let the husband render unto the wife her due: and likewise also the wife unto the husband. 1Cor.7:2
3. The wife has not power over her own body, but the husband: and likewise also the husband has not
power over his own body, but the wife. 1 Cor.7:4
4. Defraud ye not one the other, except it be by consent for a season, that ye may give yourselves unto
prayer, and may be together again, that Satan tempt you not because of your incontinency. 1 Cor.7:5
5. Yet I would that all men were even as I myself. … 1 Cor.7:7
6. But I say to the unmarried and to widows, It is good for them if they abide even as I. 1 Cor.7:8
7. If they do not have enough self-control, let them marry. For it is better to marry than to burn. 7:9
Conclusion: Apostle Paul said this is a great mystery! I only share what I found in the Bible!
