A. Matt.12:46-50
1. While Jesus was still speaking to the crowd,
his mother and brothers stood outside, wanting to speak to him. Matt.12:46

Here in Matt.12:46 mean telling what is in one’s mind!
In our today English it is preaching the will of God!
In a time like this, his mother, brothers and sisters standing outside wanting to talk to him!
In a time like this they didn’t help! They interrupted his preaching!

but they were not able to get near him because of the crowd. Luke 8:19

D. There are five key points in these records:
1. Jesus was talking to a crowd seated around him in a circle!
2. His physical kinsmen, namely mother and brothers were outside standing.
3. Jesus’ mother and brothers were not able to get near him to talk to him.
4. Jesus asked: Who are my mother and brothers?
5. Jesus answered: Whoever hear God’s word and put it into practice are my mother and brothers.

E. Here are some idea kinsmen on earth!
1. Acts 10:24, 33
a. And on the morrow they entered into Caesarea. And Cornelius was waiting for them,
having called together his kinsmen and his near friends. Acts 10:24
b. So I sent for you immediately, and it was good of you to come. Now we are all here in the
presence of God to listen to everything the Lord has commanded you to tell us." Acts 10:33
2. Acts 16:32-33
a. Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. Acts 10:32
b. At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds;
then immediately he and all his family were baptized. Acts 16:33
3. Luke 11:27-28
a. As Jesus was saying these things, a woman in the crowd called out:
Blessed is the mother who gave you birth and nursed you. Luke 11:27
b. He replied: Blessed rather are those who hear the word of God and obey it. Luke 11:28
Conclusion: Why is this lesson worthy of our learning? 1 John 2:15-17
1. Do not love the world or anything in the world.
If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. 1 John 2:15
2. For all that is in the world, the lust of the flesh and the lust of the eyes and the vain glory of life,
is not of the Father, but is of the world. 1 John 2:16
3. The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever. 1 Jn.2:17
