Subject: Nourish and cherish one's own body! Eph.5:28-30

Eph5:28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that love his wife love himself.
Eph 5:29-30 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourish and cherish it, even as the Lord the church:
For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.
How does Christ nourish and cherish his body, the church?
1. John 17:15 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.
2. 2 Thes.3:3 But the Lord is faithful, and he will strengthen and protect you from the evil one.
3. 1 Cor.10:13 No temptation has seized you except what is common to man.
And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear.
But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it.
4. 1 Cor.13:7 Love always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
5. Acts 18:10 For I am with you, and no one is going to attack and harm you, because I have many people in this city.
6. 1 Cor.3:17 If anyone destroys God's temple, God will destroy him; for God's temple is sacred, and you are that temple.
7. 1 Cor.6:20 you were bought at a price. Therefore honor God with your body.
8. Eph 5:18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit.
9. 1 Cor.6:18 Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that commits fornication sins against his own body.
10. Eph 4:26 Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your anger.
11. James 1:19 Let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to be angry.
12. Romans 12:18 If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone.
13. 2 Peter 3:13 But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, the home of righteousness.
14. 2 Peter 3:14 So then, dear friends, since you are looking forward to this, make every effort to be found spotless, blameless and at peace with him.
15. 1 Peter 3:21 and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also-- not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God.
It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
16. 1 Cor.4:4 My conscience is clear, but that does not make me innocent.
It is the Lord who judges me.
17. Col 3:15 Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.
18. Matt. 11:28 Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
19. Matt. 11:29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
20. Matt. 6:34 Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own.
