What value can one worship to God be?
Preface: It may depend on how sincere you are in attending this one worship!
1. Yes, Jesus had finished the eternal plan of salvation on the cross. John.19:30
2. Now it is up to you to save yourself by humbly accept his word and obey it! Acts 2:40, James 1:21-22
Apostle Peter warned them and pleaded with them: Save yourselves from this corrupt generation.
3. James said: Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save your soul.
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.
A. Main Scriptures for this study: James 1:13-15
When tempted, no one should say: God is tempting me. For God cannot be tempted by evil, nor does
he tempt anyone; but each one is tempted when, by his own evil desire, he is dragged away and enticed.
After desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.
1. When you sinned and got into much troubles, don't blame God nor Satan, blame yourself! James 1:13
2. It is within you, an evil thought pop up! James 1:14
3. It is you entertain that evil thought within you and you let it grow! James 1:14
4. It is you, the soul, let your body to turn that evil thought into action, you sinned! James 1:15
5. Between that evil thought pop up and grow into action there are lots of opportunities you can wipe if off!
B. Here is a real life example!
A young man came to me for help! He has a problem with getting drunk on wine!
1. I asked: How did it happen?
He said: Everyday I walk to work! Along the road there is this bar!
When I walk to work, I walk into this bar get a drink!
On the way home I walk into the bar and get drunk!
I said: Is this the only route you have to walk to work and go home?
No, there is other way too! Then all you need is walk the other way!
2. Here is the point, when you walk, you see the bar, your desire to drink rise up within you!
At this point you can just put out that desire and keep walking!
No one force you or drag you into the bar! Even if you walk into the bar, you do not have to buy a drink!
Even if you walked in and buy a drink, you do not have to drink it!
If your friends hold you down, ply open your mouth, pour wine into your mouth. You can spit it out!
Someone chop off your head and pour wine into your stomach! You are dead before you are drunk!
2. My dear friends, if in this one worship you really learn this lesson!
You never get drunk the rest of your life. How much troubles and money you will save!
If in turn people around you follow your example, how much troubles and money save altogether?
So, what value can attending one worship to God be?
C. Learn it from the scriptures how much you save by not drinking wine!
1. Wine is a mocker and beer a brawler; whoever is led astray by them is not wise. Pro.20:1
2. Do not gaze at wine when it is red, when it sparkles in the cup, when it goes down smoothly!
In the end it bites like a snake and poisons like a viper. Pro.23:31-32
Pro 23:33 Your eyes will see strange sights and your mind imagine confusing things.
Pro 23:34 You will be like one sleeping on the high seas, lying on top of the rigging.
Pro 23:35 "They hit me," you will say, "but I'm not hurt!
They beat me, but I don't feel it! When will I wake up so I can find another drink?"
D. Yes, this one hurt more and much deeper--> Commit adultery!
1. Jesus said: You have heard it was said: You shall not commit adultery! Matt.5:27
But I say to you: One looks on a woman to lust after her has committed adultery in his heart. Mt. 5:28
2. Do you know why Jesus said this?
Between evil desires transform into action you have many opportunities to wipe out evil desires!
3. Jesus’ way is much easier! Just don’t look on a woman to lust after her! It is so simple and easy!
Beauty is for all to admire and appreciate! But not to lust after!
When you look at a woman, hay, she is so beautiful! Stop right there!
Before lustful desire pop up, turn away, don't fix your eyes on her!
4. Pay attention to news report, you will know how much troubles and sufferings come with adultery!
5. So many excellent public officials fall because of adultery!
6. So many CEO fall because of adultery!
7. So many medical doctors, dentists.... fall and suffer much because of adultery!
8. So many company managers fall from because adultery with their secretaries!
Why do you think some hire only beautiful women to be their secretaries?
9. So many powerful great preachers fall from grace because of adultery!
Conclusion: Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love and peace along with those
who call on the Lord with a pure heart. 2 Tim.2:22!
Where can you find these kinds of people? The place where the Lord added the saved --> church of Christ!
If in this one worship to God, you learned these, how much sufferings and money you save? Sit and count!
