I want to is essential!
Preface: For the salvation of my soul, I want to is essential!
A. Yes, God loves all people on earth! John 3:16
1. For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16
2. But it is whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life!
3. Yes, God desires all men be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth! 1Tim.2:4
God wants all men to be saved and to come to a knowledge of the truth. 1 Tim.2:4
B. God allows people to refuse to love the truth! 2 Thes.2:10-12
1. And in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing. They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved.
For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be condemned
who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness.
2. Yes, with many other words Peter warned them, and pleaded with them: Save yourselves from this corrupt generation. Acts 2:40
3. Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to the church that day.
They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Acts 2:41-42
4. It was:
a. They accepted Peter’s teaching, got baptized, become a faithful member of the church!
b. They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching.
c. They devoted themselves to the fellowship.
d. They devoted themselves to the breaking of bread.
e. They devoted themselves to prayer!
C. Back to the young man who had a drunken problem!
1. It was him who wanted to quit! This drove him to come ask for my help!
2. On his way home, he walked into this bar and got drunk! While knowing the other way home!
3. Because he wanted to quit that was why all he needed was a voice to remind him!
4. Without this he wanted to quit! I could tell him ten thousand times or ten thousand people each
tell him thousand times, he would still be drunk until death!
5. You and I, we both know this is reality on earth for all time!
D. 2000 years ago, many called Jesus Lord, Lord, but not wanted to do what he said!
1. Why do you call me, `Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say? Luke 6:46
2. Many Jews having believed Jesus but not wanted to abide in Jesus’ teaching! John 8:31-32
Ended up Jesus called them children of the devil! John 8:44
3. Many merely listen to the word and deceived themselves! James 1:21-22
4. Some forsake Sunday worship to their own certain condemnation! Heb.10:25-29.
5. The worst may happen to some! 2 Peter 2:20-21
If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and overcome,
they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning. It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness,
than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them.
E. Yes, God will keep you strong to the end! 1 Cor.1:4-10
1. I thank my God always concerning you, for the grace of God which was given you in Christ Jesus.
2. In everything you were enriched in him, in all utterance and all Knowledge. Even as the testimony
of Christ was confirmed in you. Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait
for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed. 1 Cor.1:5-7
3. He will keep you strong to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.
4. God, who has called you into fellowship with his Son Jesus Christ our Lord, is faithful. 1 Cor.1:8-9
5. Now I beseech you, brethren, through the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that you all speak the same
thing and (that) there be no divisions among you; but (that) you be perfected together in the same
mind and in the same judgment. 1 Cor.1:10
From history, we know they were able to be perfected together for the next 500 years!
After that they became denominations to their certain damnation! Titus 3:10-11
