Where would the being saved be on Sunday?
A. From the word for word translation Bible I found these!
1. And the Lord added the being saved from day to day together. Acts 2:47
2. And in the day of Pentecost they were together in one place. Acts 2:1
3. The first day of the week is the day after the Sabbath! Matt.28:1
Ask the Jews then you will know Sabbath is Saturday. The day after Sabbath is Sunday!
4. On Sunday we meet together to break bread. Paul spoke to the people... Acts 20:7
5. The being saved come together as a church. 1 Cor.11:18
B. The being saved come together as a church. What was the name of that church?
1. Paul said to the churches in Galatia:
I was personally unknown to the churches of Christ in Judea. Gal.1:1-2
2. In Romans 16:16 Apostle put it this way! All the churches of Christ salute you.
C. Some argued, the word churches were not in capital letter!
1. Apostle Paul described the church as the body of Christ. Col.1:18
2. In Christ we who are many form one body… Romans 12:5
3. Christ is the head of the body. Col.1:18
4. As we know one head is fitted with one body. Eph.4:4
5. Jesus said I will build my church. Not churches! Matt.16:18
6. The body does not have its own name, it always call the body of the head!
D. The church is not to be divided into denomination!
1. The Lord added the being saved together as a church. Acts 2:47, 1 Cor.11:18
2. Apostle Paul told the church in Corinth not to divide into denominations! 1 Cor.1:10
I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, all of you agree with one another so
that there may be no divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind and thought.
3. Apostle Paul said this. Titus 3:10-11
Warn a denomination person once, and then warn him a second time. After that, have nothing to do
with him. You may be sure that such a man is warped and sinful; he is self-condemned.
E. When the being saved are together as a church on Sunday what did they do?
1. On the first day of the week we came together to break bread. Paul spoke to the people… Acts 20:7
2. What does break bread mean? 1 Cor.11:23-29
a. The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke
it and said: This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me. 1 Cor.11:23-24
b. Lord supper is to drink the juice in the cup which is the blood of Christ. In the same way, after
supper he took the cup, saying: This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you
drink it, in remembrance of me. Cor.11:25
c. For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.
3. Take the Lord’s supper is not to be mixed with eating meal at home!
a. When you come together, it is not the Lord's Supper you eat, for as you eat, each of you goes ahead
without waiting for anybody else. One remains hungry, another gets drunk. Don't you have homes
to eat and drink in? Or do you despise the church of God and humiliate those who have nothing?
What shall I say to you? Shall I praise you for this? Certainly not! 1 Cor.11:20-22
b. So then, my brothers, when you come together to eat, wait for each other.
If anyone is hungry, he should eat at home, so that when you meet together it may not result in
judgment. And when I come I will give further directions. 1 Cor.11:33-34
F. Conclusion:
1. As they traveled from town to town, they delivered the decisions reached by the apostles and elders
in Jerusalem for the people to obey.
So the churches were strengthened in the faith and grew daily in numbers. Acts 16:4-5
2. Jesus prayed for the unity of his church! John 17:20-21
My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message,
that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you. May they also be in us so
that the world may believe that you have sent me. May the Lord bless you and keep you always!
