Friday Bible Study.
Subject: Whoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Ro.10:13
A. Sarah had a plan to help God! Gen.16:1-5
1. Now Sarah, Abram's wife, had borne him no children. But she had an Egyptian maidservant named Hagar; so she said to Abram: The LORD has kept me from having children.
Go, sleep with my maidservant; perhaps I can build a family through her. Abram agreed to what Sarah said. Gen.16:1-2
2. So after Abram had been living in Canaan ten years, Sarah his wife took her Egyptian maidservant Hagar and gave her to her husband to be his wife. Gen.16:3
3. He slept with Hagar, and she conceived. When she knew she was pregnant, she began to despise her mistress. Gen.16:4
4. Then Sarah said to Abram: You are responsible for the wrong I am suffering.
I put my servant in your arms, and now that she knows she is pregnant, she despises me. May the LORD judge between you and me. Gen.16:5
B. Abraham was in trouble! Gen.16:6-
1. Ge 16:6 "Your servant is in your hands," Abram said. "Do with her whatever you think best." Then Sarah mistreated Hagar; so she fled from her.
2. Ge 16:7 The angel of the LORD found Hagar near a spring in the desert; it was the spring that is beside the road to Shur.
3. And he said: Hagar, servant of Sarah, where have you come from, and where are you going?
She answered: I'm running away from my mistress Sarah. Gen.16:8
4. Then the angel of the LORD told her: Go back to your mistress and submit to her. Gen.16:9
5. The angel added: I will so increase your descendants that they will be too numerous to count.
The angel of the LORD also said to her: "You are now with child and you will have a son.
You shall name him Ishmael, for the LORD has heard of your misery. Gen.16:10-11
6. He will be a wild donkey of a man; his hand will be against everyone and everyone's hand against him, and he will live in hostility toward all his brothers. Gen.16:12
7. Gen.16:15 So Hagar bore Abram a son, and Abram gave the name Ishmael to the son she had borne.
Gen.16:16 Abram was eighty-six years old when Hagar bore him Ishmael.
C. Abraham created serious troubles for his descendants!
1. Cast out Hagar to the desert to die! Gen.21:5-19
2. God heard the boy crying! Gen.21:17-18
God heard the boy crying, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her: What is the matter, Hagar? Do not be afraid; God has heard the boy crying as he lies there.
Lift the boy up and take him by the hand, for I will make him into a great nation.
D. The extreme evil Levites were set apart to the Lord! Genesis 34:1-31

E. Rahab, the prostitute saved herself and her whole family! Jos.2:1-9
Joshua spared Rahab the prostitute, with her family and all who belonged to her, because she hid the men Joshua had sent as spies to Jericho-- and she lives among the Israelites to this day. Jos.6:25
F. Jesus saved a criminal on the cross! Luke 23:39-43
1. The Lord said: But if a wicked man turns away from all the sins he has committed and keeps all my decrees and does what is just and right, he will surely live; he will not die.
None of the offenses he has
committed will be remembered against him. Because of the righteous things he has done, he will live. Eze.18:21-22
2. Everyone who call on the name of the Lord will be saved! Ro.10:13
3. That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.
4. Now pray with me! Lord Jesus come into my heart be my Lord! Amen!
Congratulation: You are saved! A whole new life is ahead of you!
