How to have peace for all people?
Preface: Man seek to have peace for thousands of years! Many great philosophers offered various ways!
According to what I know the one philosopher came close to this was Confucius!
This was his way:
Righteousness in human heart, harmony in the home, order in the nation, peace on earth!
In order to have righteousness in the heart human must equip with a right mind and pure heart.
A. Here is the problem! Human heart was corrupted beyond cure. Jer.17:9
1. King David was a man after God’s own heart! 1 Sam.13:14
2. But his heart was so corrupted that he murder his soldier and took his wife to be his!
3. In the repentance he said these:
a. Behold, I was shaped in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me. Ps.51:5
b. Behold, thou desires truth in the inward parts: and in the hidden part thou shall make me to
know wisdom. Ps.51:6
c. Purge me with hyssop, and I shall be clean: wash me, and I shall be whiter than snow. Ps.51:7
d. Make me to hear joy and gladness; that the bones which thou hast broken may rejoice. Ps.51:8
e. Create in me a pure heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me. Ps.51:10
B. Preach the gospel, building churches of Christ is the way! Matt.28:18-20
1. Jesus came to them and said: All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Matt.28:18
2. Go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of
the Holy Spirit, Matt.28:19
3. Teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the
very end of the age. Matt.28:20
4. Mark repeated it this way! Mark 16:15-16
He said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to the whole creation.
He who believes and is baptized shall be saved; but he who believes not shall be condemned.
C. Apostle Peter started it this way! Acts 2:36-42
1. Let all the house of Israel therefore know assuredly, that God hath made him both Lord and Christ,
this Jesus whom ye crucified. Acts 2:36
2. Now when they heard (this,) they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and the rest of the
apostles, Brethren, what shall we do? Acts 2:37
3. And Peter unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ unto
the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:38
4. And with many other words he testified, and exhorted them, saying,
Save yourselves from this crooked generation. Acts 2:40
5. They then that received his word were baptized: and there were added (unto them) in that day
about three thousand souls. Acts 2:41
6. They continued steadfastly in the apostles' teaching and fellowship, in the breaking of bread and
the prayers. Acts 2:42
7. Start with getting baptized into Christ and be a new creation!
If anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 2 Cor.5:17
D. Conclusion: Correct translation of Eph.4:24 will make this teaching clear!
Here are 4 different translations on Eph.4:24-->
1. Chinese: and put on a new man, this new man is made according to the image of God.
This new man has righteousness and holiness of truth.
2. NIV: and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.
3. KJV: And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
4. ASV: put on the new man, that after God hath been created in righteousness and holiness of truth.
5. This is the correct translation: a. Everyone in the church of Christ is to put on a new man.
b. This new man has the image of God. c. This new man is holy and able to do righteousness.
d. This new man was the result of preaching the gospel of Christ!
When churches of Christ are everywhere, the world is flooded with holy and righteous people there is peace on earth! Confucius came close to it, Jesus perfected it!
