Can’t then don’t!
If you can't worship in church of Christ don't believe Jesus!
Preface:
1. When you come together as a church. 1 Cor.11:18
2. Church is Jesus’ believers come together to worship on Sunday!
A. What happen to worship in a church with a name not in the Bible?
1. Jesus said: They worship me in vain. Mark 7:7
2. Their teachings are but rules taught by men. Mark 7:7
3. Teach men's rules will be condemned! Gal.1:8
4. They lead people to hell with them. Matt.15:14
5. They do not enter the kingdom, nor let others enter! Matt.23:13
B. Church with a name not in the Bible is against Jesus!
1. Jesus said: I will build my church.... Matt.16:18
2. They said: We will build a church with a different name!
How and what does this sound to you?
3. The Lord added the saved into the church. Acts 2:47
4. Apostle Paul said those were churches of Christ. Romans 16:16
5. In reality, in history, at the first 500 years there were no church with name not in the Bible!
6. Is it normal that you believe Jesus is Lord and Christ, but go to a not church of Christ?
7. I can think of these, why and how can others not think of these? 1 Cor.2:16
For who has known the mind of the Lord that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.
C. How serious can it be to forsake worship on Sunday? Heb.10:25-29
1. Clear instruction. Need no explanation!
Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is;
but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. Heb.10:25
2. Forsake to worship on Sunday is a sin willfully! Heb.10:26
3. If you were taught up to the point that you got baptized and not know this, you were taught wrong!
4. This is a sin after we have received the knowledge of the truth! Heb.10:26
5. There is no more sacrifice for these kinds of sins! Heb.10:26
6. The result is a certain hell with the devil forever! Heb.10:27
7. Please take note to what I repeated in the last few weeks!
If you can’t do what says in the Bible, it is better that you don’t believe Jesus?
8. It is much worse for those who believe Jesus but not abide in Jesus’ teaching! John 8:31-44
D. Further illustration on forsaking Sunday worship!
1. He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under 2 or 3 witnesses: Heb.10:28
2. Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under
foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified,
an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace? Heb.10:29
a. Jesus bought the church with his blood. Matt.26:28
b. You dare, to build another, dare to destroy it by not participate in worship!
c. Dare to set yourself up against Jesus Christ. The Bible says, you will die without mercy!
d. These instruction were penned through the inspiration of the Holy Spirit!
By not participating in worship, you done despite to the Spirit of grace!
3. Destroy the church of Christ, reduce it to nothing, … God will make you pay for all these!
Be sure to read this carefully! Heb.10:30
For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongs unto me, I will recompense, said the Lord.
And again, The Lord shall judge his people.
4. Fornication and adultery God will judge! Heb.13:4
5. In conclusion of not forsake Sunday worship to God, the Spirit of grace declared!
It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Heb.10:31
