Friday Bible Study. September 23, 2016.
Subject: God’s way of understanding what says in the Bible! 1 Cor.2:10-12, 16.
(Such as Jn.1:21, Matt.17:10-13) (Man’s way: One said, it is because John was being humble!)
Scripture for this study: 1 Thes.5:23
And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. (KJV)
A. "The very God".
1. Ex 20:3 "You shall have no other gods before me.
2. Deu.6:14-15 Do not follow other gods, the gods of the peoples around you; for the LORD your God, who is among you, is a jealous God and his anger will burn against you,
and he will destroy you from the face of the land.
3. Mark 12:32 "Well said, teacher," the man replied. "You are right in saying that God is one and there is no other but him."
B. “The God of peace”
1. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
2. Luke 24:36 While they were still talking about this, Jesus himself stood among them and said to them, "Peace be with you.
3. John 20:21 Again Jesus said, "Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you."
4. John 20:26 A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them.
Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said, "Peace be with you!".
5. Romans 15:33 The God of peace be with you all. Amen.
6. 2 Thes.3:16 Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way.
The Lord be with all of you.
C. “Sanctify you wholly?
1. Mt 5:48 Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.
2. Jn 17:12 While I was with them, I kept them in thy name which thou hast given me: and I guarded them,
and not one of them perished, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.
3. Jn 17:17 Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth.
4. Jn 17:24 "Father, I want those you have given me to be with me where I am, and to see my glory,
the glory you have given me because you loved me before the creation of the world.
5. Ac 2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people.
And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
6. 1Jn 2:1 My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin,
we have one who speaks to the Father in our defense-- Jesus Christ, the Righteous One.
7. 1Jn 2:2 He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world.
8. 1Jn 2:6 He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
D. “Be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.”
1. John 17:21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am in you.
May they also be in us so that the world may believe that you have sent me.
2. 1 Pet 5:8 Be self-controlled and alert.
Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
