How God live up to his dignity!
1. To Adam. Gen.2:17
You must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil,
for when you eat of it you will surely die.
2. Gen.6:5-7
The Lord saw how great man's wickedness on the earth had become, and that every inclination of
the thoughts of his heart was only evil all the time. And God saw that the wickedness of man was
great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually.
And it repented the Lord that he had made man on the earth, and it grieved him at his heart.
And the Lord said, I will destroy man whom I have created from the face of the earth; both man,
and beast, and the creeping thing, and the fowls of the air; for it repented me that I have made them.
3. Lev.10:1-3
Aaron's sons Nadab and Abihu took their censers, put fire in them and added incense; and they
offered unauthorized fire before the Lord, contrary to his command. So fire came out from the
presence of the Lord and consumed them, and they died before the Lord. Moses then said to
Aaron: This is what the Lord spoke of when he said: Among those who approach me I will show
myself holy; in the sight of all the people I will be honored. Aaron remained silent.
4. Jude 1:7
Even as Sodom and Gomorrah, and the cities about them in like manner, giving themselves over to
fornication, and going after strange flesh, are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of
eternal fire.
5. 2 Peter 2:6-7
If he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an
example of what is going to happen to the ungodly; and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who
was distressed by the filthy lives of lawless men.
6. Zeph 1:14-18
a. The great day of the Lord is near, it is near, and haste greatly, even the voice of the day of the
Lord: the mighty man shall cry there bitterly. Zeph.1:14
b. That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation,
a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness. Zeph.1:15
c. A day of the trumpet and alarm against the fenced cities, and against the high towers. Zeph.1:16
d. And I will bring distress upon men, that they shall walk like blind men, because they have sinned
against the Lord: and their blood shall be poured out as dust, and their flesh as the dung. Zeph.1:17
e. Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them in the day of the Lord's wrath; but
the whole land shall be devoured by the fire of his jealousy:
for he shall make even a speedy riddance of all them that dwell in the land. Zeph.1:18
7. Zeph 2:1-3
a. Gather yourselves together, yea, gather together, O nation not desired. Zeph.2:1
b. Before the decree bring forth, before the day pass as the chaff, before the fierce anger of the
Lord come upon you, before the day of the Lord's anger come upon you. Zeph.2:2
c. Seek ye the Lord, all ye meek of the earth, which have wrought his judgment; seek righteousness,
seek meekness: it may be ye shall be hid in the day of the Lord's anger. Zeph.2:3
8. Conclusion:
1. Be ye therefore perfect, even as your Father which is in heaven is perfect. Matt.5:48
2. No second chance for these people! Heb.6:4-6
It is impossible for those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, who have shared in the Holy Spirit, who have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the coming age, if they fall away, to be brought back to repentance, because to their loss they are crucifying the Son of God all over again and subjecting him to public disgrace.
Don’t drop out from the church of Christ! If you do, there is no second chance!
