1. Teaching circumcision in the O.T. equal to baptism in the N.T.

B. How do we know this was a deadly mistake?
1. Baptism in the name of Jesus Christ is for forgiveness of sins and receive gift of the Holy Spirit!
2. Baptism is for washing away sins! Acts 22:16
3. Baptism is to died, buried, be raised with Christ for a new life! Ro.6:3-4
4. Water baptism is so that we may have a clear conscience before God! 1 Peter 3:21
5. Baptism is into Christ for eternal life!
6. Baptism is one utmost important thing in believe Jesus!
C. If baptism counts for nothings, why these!
1. 3000 people were baptized on that day right after they heard Peter?s preaching! Acts 2:36-41.
2. Why did the Ethiopian Eunuch asked to be baptized right after teaching of Jesus? Acts 8:35-38
3. Water baptism was to wash away sins! Acts 22:16
4. Why Philippians Jailer and his family got baptized at the hour of the night? Acts 16:30-34
D. This was and still is their mistake!
1. Circumcision was to be a seal for Abraham for his salvation in the Lord! Geneses chapter 15-17
2. That was to prove that Abraham was saved before circumcision and the Law of Moses!
3. A seal to prove that we are children of God is the Holy Spirit received at time of baptism! Eph.1:13
The seal to prove that we are children of God is the in dwelling Holy Spirit not baptism itself!
It was so close! Without careful examination and mercy from God how can one discover!
4. Yes, circumcision and un-circumcision count for nothing, if one does not obey Moses law in O.T.
5. Yes, baptism without abide in Jesus teaching is dead! James 2:26, John 8:31-44
E. Circumcision and baptism without obedience mean nothing!
1. Without obey Moses law, circumcision means nothing for Israel!
2. Without obey Jesus? teaching, baptism means nothing for believers!
3. Without stay in the church of Christ, baptism makes it worse! 2 Peter 2:20-22
4. Forsake Sunday worship to God, baptism makes it much worse! Heb.10:25-29
F. What counts is a new creation!
1. And as many as walk according to this rule, peace be on them, and mercy, God?s Israel. Gal.6:16
2. Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; the old has gone, the new has come! 2Cor.5:17
G. Conclusion: Apostle Paul put it this way! Eph.4:17-24
1. So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do, in the
futility of their thinking. Eph.4:17
2. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the
ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Eph.4:18
3. Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every kind
of impurity, with a continual lust for more. Eph.4:19
4. You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being
corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds; and to put on the
new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. Eph.4:23-24
5. Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all
members of one body. Eph.4:25
6. What Jesus said count everything! --> Be ye perfect as the Father in heaven is perfect! Matt.5:48!
