Subject: Believe Jesus what does it mean?  Find answer from these scriptures

A. Acts 19:4-5

    Paul said: John's baptism was a baptism of repentance.

    He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.

    On hearing this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus.

 

B. John 9:35-38

1. Jesus heard that they had thrown him out, and when he found him, he said:

    Do you believe in the Son of Man? John 9:35

2. The man asked: Who is he, sir? Tell me so that I may believe in him. John 9:36

3. Jesus said: You have now seen him; in fact, he is the one speaking with you. John 9:37

4. The man said: "Lord, I believe," and he worshiped him. John 9:38

 

C. Acts 16:30-33

1. He then brought them out and asked: Sirs, what must I do to be saved? 16:30

2. They replied: Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved-- you and your family. 16:31

3. Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. 16:32

4. At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all

    his family were baptized. 16:33

 

D. John 8:31-32

    To the Jews who having believed him, Jesus said: If you abide in my teaching, you are really my

    disciples. Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

 

E. Acts 8:35-38

1. And Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from this Scripture, preached unto him Jesus. 8:35

2. And as they went on the way, they came unto a certain water; and the

    eunuch said: Behold, (here is) water; what doth hinder me to be baptized? 8:36

3. And Philip said, If thou believe with all thy heart, thou may.

    And he answered and said, I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.) 8:37

4. And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they both went down into the water,

    both Philip and the eunuch, and he baptized him. 8:38

 

F. John 6:3940

    And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise

    them up at the last day. For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in

    him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.

 

G. 1 Pet 1:8-9

    Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now,

    you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy,

    for you are receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

 

H. James 2:17-19

1. Even so faith, if it have not works, is dead in itself. 2:17

2. Yea, a man will say: Thou hast faith, and I have works: show me thy faith apart from (thy) works,

    and I by my works will show thee (my) faith. 2:18

3. Thou believe that God is one; thou doest well: the demons also believe, and shudder. 2:19
