A. Seed and produce! Luke 8:4-11
1. Preaching is like farmer sowing seed! Luke 8:5
2. The seed is the word of God. Luke 8:11
3. Word of God is in the Bible! Jn.16:12-14, 2 Peter 1:3
4. First century preachers preached the word of God! Acts 16:32
5. Their produce were churches of Christ in Judea. Gal.1:22 RSV
6. Paul and Barnabas preached the word of God and they produced churches of Christ. Acts 15:36,
Romans 16:16
B. Church name in the Bible is church of Christ!
1. Jesus is the Christ... Matt.16:13-18
2. Jesus said: I will build my church! Matt.16:18
3. Naturally, others call this church, church of Christ! Ro.16:16
4. Why don’t many know this truth?
The disciples came to Jesus and asked:
Why do you speak to the people in parables? Matt.13:10
Jesus replied: Matt.13:11
The knowledge of the secrets of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you, but not to them.
5. Jesus said: This is why I speak to them in parables:
Though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand. Matt.13:11
C. Here are some reasons:
1. The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers, … 2 Cor.4:4
2. They chosen not to know the truth! 2Thes.2:10-12
3. According to Romans 7:1-6.
a. Church with name not church of Christ is like a woman has two husbands in the same time!
b. This made her a spiritual whore!
c. They practice disobedience to what Jesus said. Matt.11:!3
4. According to Col.1:18-> church is the body of Christ!
a. A church with name not church of Christ is like calling one's body a name different from his head!
b. Have you ever done this?
Look at a woman's head and say: Miss Ma. Then look at her body and say: Miss Niu.
c. I have never heard in thousands years of history someone did this!
d. But this is how people do to Christ all over the world!
Look at his head and say to Christ: Lord, Lord!
And then look at his body, Niu, Niu!
Now do you wonder why Jesus said: This is why I speak to them in parables:
though seeing, they do not see; though hearing, they do not hear or understand. Matt.13:13
b. When you talk to a woman, do you look at her face or her body or both?
c. Do you ever look at her head and say Miss Ma. Then look at her body say Miss Niu?
5. According to Eph.5:22-32.
a. A church with name not church of Christ is like a woman married a Mr. Ma but chose to be known
as Mrs. Niu. This is an insult to her husband, Christ!
b. Have you ever done this? Look at Mr. Ma say: Hello Mr. Ma. Then look at his wife say: Mrs. Niu!
No, you never did. No, you will never do this! No, no one will ever do this!
Because this would be an insult to Mr. Ma!
c. But do you know? Man does this to Christ all the time!
d. Church name not church of Christ is a green hat on Christ head!
If you do this to man on this earth, you may get kill physically!
Conclusion: If the church you go does not have the name church of Christ, be ready to be in hell!
Always remember to ask: Is the name of your church in the Bible?
