What if makes many suffer now and life after!

What if makes many suffer now and life after!

A. Jesus set the example! Jesus is Lord and Christ! Acts 2:36, Matt.16:15-17

1. N.Y. inspector came to inspect church building they park their car without paid parking receipt!

2. I asked: Did you ever get a parking ticket for it?  The answer is never.  Do you know why?

3. Can you do the same? No!  If you do the same, you will be fined!

4. Now do you understand why Jesus did not have to pay tax?  But he paid!

5. The reason: So that we may not offend them! Matt.17:27

B. Apostle Peter made it clear: 1 Peter 2:13-15

1. Submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake, whether it be to the king,

    as supreme. 1 Peter 2:13

2. Or unto governors, as unto them that are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers,

and for the praise of them that do well. 1 Peter 2:14

3. For so is the will of God, that with well doing ye may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men.

C. Apostle Paul repeated it! Romans 13:1-5

1. Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God.

The powers that be are ordained of God. Ro.13:1

2. Whosoever therefore resist the power, resist the ordinance of God;

and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation. Ro.13:2

3. For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt you then not be afraid of the power?

do that which is good, and you shall have praise of the same. Ro.13:3

4. For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if you do that which is evil, be afraid;

for he bears not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenge to execute wrath upon

    him that does evil. Ro.13:4

5. Wherefore ye must needs be subject, not only for wrath, but also for conscience sake. Ro.13:5

6. Do you know how much power this ‘what if’ means?

‘What if’ Government authority does not live up to what they ought to be?

With this ‘what if’ they wiped out all the above Bible instructions!

D.  Children obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. Eph.6:1

1. Yes, lots of children disobey their parents for lots of reasons!

2. One is ‘what if’ my parents do not live up to their responsibility!

3. This ‘what if’ makes children feel right to disobey!

E. Slaves submit yourselves to your masters!

1. Slaves, submit yourselves to your masters with all respect, not only to those who are good and

considerate, but also to those who are harsh. 1 Peter 2:18

2. Masters, treat your slaves in the same way. Do not threaten them, since you know that he who is

both their Master and yours is in heaven, and there is no favoritism with him. Eph.6:9

3. To the above two points, servants do not need to use ‘what if’ to disobey masters!

They can say, master do not live up to theirs, therefore, I do not have to obey them!

F. Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. Eph.5:22

1. For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church, and he is the

    Savior of the body. Eph.5:23

2. All the wives on earth use ‘what if’ my husband is very un-reasonable!

They all feel free to disobey their husbands! They made their husbands obey them!

G. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it. Eph.5:25

The same way, ‘what if’ my wife has become un-lovable!

Conclusion:

1. Now, all must know how powerful ‘what if’ is!

2. ‘What if’ can wipe out all God’s instruction! Disregard whatever says in the Bible!

3. All must know: So we make it our goal to please the Lord, whether we are at home in the body or

away from it. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ, that each one may receive

what is due him for the things done while in the body, whether good or bad. 2Cor.5:9-10

May the Lord bless you and keep you always!  Preach this September 3, 2017.
