Satan is not smart, not fearful, only despicable!

Satan is not smart, not fearful, only despicable!

A. Satan is not smart!

1. Satan tempted Jesus with food when Jesus was hungry!

Satan thought Jesus was a little child, when hungry he cries for food!

Jesus said: Man shall not live by bread alone. Man lives by every word from the mouth of God!

2. Satan tempted Jesus to do something stupid!

Satan is dumb bell! He thought Jesus was like him, like to do stupid things!

Jesus said: Do not make trial of the Lord your God!

3. Satan tempted Jesus with all the splendors in the world!

Satan said: If you bow down and worship me, I will give you all the splendors in the world!

Do you know to whom all the splendors in the world belong?

If you don’t, read Romans chapter one and Acts chapter 17!

Jesus said: Get lost, Satan! For it is written: Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.

4. Notice: I hope you like to give away things belong to yourself!

Think twice, if you like to give away things belong to others!

B. Satan is living in constant fear but not able to change!

1. When Jesus stepped ashore, he was met by a demon-possessed man from the town. For a long time

this man had not worn clothes or lived in a house, but had lived in the tombs. Luke 8:27

2. When he saw Jesus, he cried out and fell at his feet, shouting at the top of his voice:

What do you want with me, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you, don't torture me! Lk.8:28

    a. Here you know Satan is living in constant fear!

    b. Do you know when and for what people cry out and fell at their feet and shouting at top of voice?

    c. Do you know when and for what people beg for mercy?

3. This verse tells us how despicable Satan can be! Luke 8:29

For Jesus had commanded the evil spirit to come out of the man.

Many times it had seized him, and though he was chained hand and foot and kept under guard,

he had broken his chains and had been driven by the demon into solitary places. Luke 8:29

Notice: When Jesus was not there, he was un-matched by anything!

4. This is even more despicable! Luke 8:30-31

Jesus asked him: What is your name? He replied: Legion! Luke 8:30

And they begged him repeatedly not to order them to go into the Abyss. Luke 8:31

Notice: Can you believe?  A legion of ghosts begged for mercy repeatedly?

5. The people went out to see what had happened! Luke 8:35

When they came to Jesus, they found the man from whom the demons had gone out,

sitting at Jesus' feet, dressed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.

6. With Jesus besides you, legion of ghost can’t do a thing to hurt you!

C. Expect different kinds of reactions! Luke 8:37-39

1. All the people of the country round about asked him to depart from them; for they were overcome

with great fear: and he entered into a boat, and returned. Luke 8:37

2. But the man from whom the demons were gone out prayed him that he might be with him. Lk.8:38

3. Jesus said to him: Return to your family and declare how great things God had done for you!

He went his way telling the whole city how great things Jesus had done for him! Luke 8:39

D. Now that you have come to the church of Christ what is your reaction?

1.  In the church of Christ. You know the truth in the Bible!

Overcome with great fear, depart and continue to live a life of great fear?

2. Stay with the church of Christ, pursue righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit?

What else can you do in exchange for a life of righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit!

3. This is what Jesus wants you do!

    a. Be a part of the church of Christ and declare what Jesus had done for you!

    b. Always remember the Lord is my helper. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me! Heb.13:6

May the Lord bless you and keep you always!  Preach this September 24, 2017.
