Die for doing what is right?

Friday Bible Study.  October 6, 2017.

Subject: Die for doing what is right?

1. Watch out! Proverb 16:25

There is a way that seems right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death. Pro.16:25

2. Understanding Romans 5:6-8

Ro 5:6 For while we were yet weak, in due season Christ died for the ungodly.

Ro 5:7 For scarcely for a righteous man will one die:

for peradventure for the good man someone would even dare to die.

Ro 5:8 But God commends his own love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

3. See what Jesus taught!

Matt 5:10 Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Matt 10:21 And brother shall deliver up brother to death, and the father

his child: and children shall rise up against parents, and cause them to be put to death.

Matt 10:23 When you are persecuted in one place, flee to another. I tell you the truth,

you will not finish going through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes. Matt.10:23

4. See what did Peter do?

Ac 4:18 And they called them, and charged them not to speak at all nor teach in the name of Jesus.

Ac 4:19 But Peter and John answered and said unto them,

Whether it is right in the sight of God to hearken unto you rather than unto God, judge ye:

Ac 4:20 for we cannot but speak the things which we saw and heard.

5. Paul was willing to do this! Romans 9:1-3

Ro 9:1 I say the truth in Christ, I lie not, my conscience bearing witness with me in the Holy Spirit,

Ro 9:2 that I have great sorrow and unceasing pain in my heart.

Ro 9:3 For I could wish that I myself were anathema from Christ for my brethren's sake, my kinsmen according to the flesh:

6. Why did the Holy Spirit forbidden them to speak the word in Asia? Acts 16:6-9

    And they went through the region of Phrygia and Galatia, having been forbidden of the Holy Spirit to speak the word in Asia;

and when they were come over against Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia; and the Spirit of Jesus suffered them not; and passing

by Mysia, they came down to Troas.  And a vision appeared to Paul in the night:

There was a man of Macedonia standing, beseeching him, and saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.

7. Why did Jesus teach these? Matt.5:38-48

Mt 5:38 "You have heard that it was said, `Eye for eye, and tooth for tooth.' (NIV)

Mt 5:39-40 But I tell you, Do not resist an evil person. If someone strikes you on the right cheek, turn to him the other also.

And if someone wants to sue you and take your tunic, let him have your cloak as well.

Mt 5:41 If someone forces you to go one mile, go with him two miles.

Mt 5:42 Give to the one who asks you, and do not turn away from the one who wants to borrow from you.

Mt 5:43 "You have heard that it was said, `Love your neighbor and hate your enemy.'

Mt 5:44-45 But I tell you:

Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, that you may be sons of your Father in heaven.

He causes his sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous.

Mt 5:46-48 If you love those who love you, what reward will you get?

Are not even the tax collectors doing that?

And if you greet only your brothers, what are you doing more than others? Do not even pagans do that?

Be perfect, therefore, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

Do you know you can easily kill your most beloved one by insist doing your right thing?

May the Lord bless you and keep you always!  This is written on October 6, 2017.
