A. Different opinion on certain issue!
1. Some men in the church of Christ in Judea came up an issue! Acts 15:1-2
Unless you are circumcised according to the law of Moses, you cannot be saved! Acts 15:1
2. This is Satan’s 2000 years old tactic! Raise an issue demand all others follow him.
When failed, he leaves the church establish a church practice his idea!
3. This brought Paul and Barnabas into sharp dispute and debate with them.
So Paul and Barnabas were appointed with some other believers go up to Jerusalem
to see the apostles and elders about this issue! Acts 15:2
4. The apostles and elders met to consider this question. Acts 15:6
5. The issue was settled! Acts 15:28-29
For it seemed good to the Holy Ghost, and to us, to lay upon you no greater burden than these
necessary things; That ye abstain from meats offered to idols, and from blood, and from things
strangled, and from fornication: from which if ye keep yourselves, ye shall do well. Fare ye well.
B. This group went understand ground and work in secret! Eph.5:6-10
1. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God's wrath comes on those
who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them. Eph.5:6-7
2. For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light
(for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth)
and find out what pleases the Lord. Eph.5:8-10
3. This brought Paul to call this group as dogs and mutilator of the flesh! Phil.3:2
4. Apostle Paul flatly put it this way! Titus 3:10-11
Denomination is warped, sinful and self-condemned!
Warn them once and warn them the second time. After that have nothing to do with them!
C. With kind words Apostle John put it this way!
1. This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you:
God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. 1Jn.1:5
2. If we say that we have fellowship with him, and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth. 1Jn.1:6
3. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another,
and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanse us from all sin. 1Jn.1:7
4. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. 1Jn.1:8
5. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins,
and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1Jn.1:9
6. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. 1Jn.1:10
7. My dear children, I write this to you so that you will not sin. But if anybody does sin, we have one
who speaks to the Father in our defense-- Jesus Christ, the Righteous One. 1Jn.2:1
8. He is the atoning sacrifice for our sins,
and not only for ours but also for the sins of the whole world. 1Jn.2:2
D. What kinds of people will leave the family to form denomination church? 1Jn.3:6-10
1. Whosoever abides in him sins not: whosoever sinned has not seen him, neither knows him. 1Jn.3:6
2. (My) little children, let no man lead you astray:
he that does righteousness is righteous, even as he is righteous: 1Jn.3:7
3. He that does sin is of the devil; for the devil sins from the beginning.
To this end was the Son of God manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. 1Jn.3:8
4. Whosoever is begotten of God doeth no sin, because his seed abides in him:
and he cannot sin, because he is begotten of God. 1Jn.3:9
5. In this the children of God are manifest, and the children of the devil:
whosoever doeth not righteousness is not of God, neither he that loves not his brother. 1Jn.3:10
6. Children born of God, may have different opinion on some issue.
May even thought about leaving the church of Christ to form a denomination church!
But he can’t leave the church of Christ to form another church! Because God’s seed is within him!
E. Conclusion: Only children of Satan can leave the church of Christ to form a denomination church!
