Why do men fall into error? 1

Why do men fall into error? 1

Suppress the truth for un-righteous living!

A. Main Scriptures for this study: Ro.1:18-21

1. For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men,

who suppress the truth for unrighteous living. Ro.1:18

2. Because that which is known of God is manifest in them; for God manifested it unto them. Ro.1:19

3. For the invisible things of him since the creation of the world are clearly seen, being perceived

    through the things that are made, (even) his everlasting power and divinity;

that they may be without excuse: Ro.1:20

4. Because that, knowing God, they glorified him not as God, neither gave thanks;

but became vain in their reasoning, and their senseless heart falls into error! Ro.1:21

5. God created visible and invisible things in heaven and on earth! Col.1:16

B. Seeing the invisible through the visible!

1. When comes to things that do not fit their unrighteous living, they refuse to utilize this logic!

2. Thus they sinned and fall into error!

C. A kindness act was done in the name of Jesus Christ! Acts 3:1-8

1. One day Peter and John went to the temple at the time of prayer at 3 p.m. Ac.3:1

2. Now a man crippled from birth was being carried to the temple gate called Beautiful,

where he was put every day to beg from those going into the temple courts. Ac.3:2

3. When he saw Peter and John about to enter, he asked them for money. Ac.3:3

4. Peter looked straight at him, as did John. Then Peter said: Look at us! Ac.3:4

5. So the man gave them his attention, expecting to get something from them. Ac.3:5

6. Then Peter said: Silver or gold I do not have, but what I have I give you.

In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, walk. Ac.3:6

7. Taking him by the right hand, he helped him up, instantly the man was healed. Ac.3:7

8. He jumped to his feet and began to walk. Then he went with them into the temple courts,

walking and jumping, and praising God. Ac.3:8

D. Jews religious leaders tried to suppress the truth! Acts 4:7-17

1. They had Peter and John brought before them and began to question them:

By what power or what name did you do this? Ac.4:7

2. Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, said to them: Rulers and elders of the people! Ac.4:8

If we are being called to account today for an act of kindness shown to a cripple and are asked how

he was healed, then know this, you and all the people of Israel: It is by the name of Jesus Christ of

Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead,

that this man stands before you healed. Ac.4:8-10

3. Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to men by which

    we must be saved. Ac.4:12

4. When they saw the courage of Peter and John and realized that they were unschooled, ordinary

men, they were astonished and they took note that these men had been with Jesus. Ac.4:13

5. But since they could see the man who had been healed standing there with them,

there was nothing they could say. Ac.4:14

6. So they ordered them to withdraw from the Sanhedrin and then conferred together. Ac.4:15

7. They asked: What are we going to do with these men? Ac.4:16

Everyone living in Jerusalem knows they have done an outstanding miracle, and we cannot deny it.

***At this they should believe and repent then be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ!***

8. But to stop this thing from spreading any further among the people, we must warn these men to

speak no longer to anyone in this name. Ac.4:17

***In order to hold on to unrighteousness they refuse to see the truth through things they can see!***

E. Jesus’ believers know in the Bible the name of the church is church of Christ!

1. When they see a church of Christ, they pass it by!

2. They know the truth but refuse and cover it up for their unrighteous living!

3. Jesus said: The word I said will condemn them at the last day! Jn.12:48
