Store up treasure on earth but store nothing in heaven!
A. A real life story!
1. 43 years ago a man robbed a woman $50.00. She shouted for help!
2. Police cars rushed to catch the robber!
3. They asked the robber: Why did you do this evil?
4. He answered: It is you did much more evils than I!
5. As you can see, if this woman just let me rob the $50.00! You lost only $50.00.
6. Now that she shouted and you all come to arrest me.
7. Now you need to build jail house, court room, judge, cooks, jury duty...
You waste millions to get back this $50.00!
8. This is a fact of life! People's hearts are darkened can't think about this!
B. Think about being a preacher!
1. Sharing the truth in the Bible saving souls away from crimes!
2. One at a time, one by one follow Jesus stay away from doing crime!
3. Much evil eliminated. Quality of life enhanced!
4. Much money saved! Heartaches eliminated!
5. To these, people's hearts are darkened and fell into error!
6. America spending 710 billion U.S. dollars a year trying to keep peace!
7. I can easily think, if this 710 billion use to preach the truth in the Bible.
Help people follow Jesus, obey law and do righteousness!
8. To these, people's hearts are darkened and fall into error!
C. Jesus taught this! Matt.6:19-21
1. Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy,
and where thieves break in and steal. Matt.6:19
2. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy,
and where thieves do not break in and steal. Matt.6:20
3. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. Matt.6:21
4. This is a fact of life! People’s hearts are where their treasure is!
5. Thus their hearts are darkened and fall into error.
When come to the truth that can save their souls they are in error!
D. Jesus told this parable! Luke 12:16-21
1. The ground of a certain rich man brought forth plentifully. Lk.12:16
2. He thought within himself, saying:
What shall I do, because I have no room where to bestow my fruits? Lk.12:17
3. And he said: This will I do: Lk.12:18
I will pull down my barns, and build greater; and there will I bestow all my fruits and my goods.
4. And I will say to my soul, Soul, you have much goods laid up for many years;
take your ease, eat, drink, and be merry. Lk.12:19
5. But God said unto him: You fool, this night thy soul shall be required of you.
Then whose shall those things be, which you have provided? Lk.12:20
6. So is he that lay up treasure for himself, and is not rich toward God. Lk.12:21
7. Please figure out for yourself on how you may lay up treasure in heaven!
E. Conclusion:
1. Recently we were saddened to hear two of my wife’s former co-workers passed away!
2. They both store up more than enough money to enjoy their retirement for a long time!
We tried many ways to help them come to follow Jesus and have eternal life!
3. It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle
than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God. Lk.18:25
4. I can only pray that you are not that rich yet!
May the Lord bless you and keep you always! Preach this on April 29, 2018.
