1. 50 years ago in Hong Kong, GO TO HEAVEN is an amazing topic to help people come to church of
Christ to believe Jesus, repent and be baptized for forgiveness of their sins!
In about 4 years thousands responded!
2. 43 years ago in New York City, GO TO HEAVEN was treated as cursing people to die!
Who were more superstitious? Hong Kong people or New York City people in America!
We still remember a brother Cheung as a senior himself took a bundle of this gospel tract to a senior
center to invite people come to church of Christ to believe Jesus!
Those senior said to him: Are you trying to curse us to die?!
3. Today, we will try it this way!
GO TO HEAVEN HOW MUCH DO YOU KNOW?
A. Bible and human both know these:
1. Each human has spirit and soul and body. 1Thes.5:23
2. At death of the body spirit goes to God body goes to dust. Ecc.12:7
3. Go to heaven is about the soul after death of the body!
4. This is why to a dead body we say he went to heaven!
5. Go to heaven is the most common comforting words for the surviving family!
B. Where the soul may end up after dead of the body?
1. The saved thief on the cross went to paradise with Jesus! Lk.23:43
2. Lazarus' soul went to Abraham's bosom. Lk.16:23
3. The rich man’s soul went to Hades where he was in agony. Lk.16:23
4. Some go to a place calls Death or Sea! Rev.20:13
5. At judgment day Hades, Death will be thrown into Lake of Fire! Rev.20:14
6. The Sea will disappear with the earth. 2 Peter 3:10
7. Souls in Hades, Death and Sea will be judged according to what they had done! Rev.20:13
C. At resurrection of the dead with what kind of body will they come? 1Cor.15:35
1. Marvel not at this: for the hour comes, in which all that are in the tombs shall hear his voice,
and shall come forth; they that have done good, unto the resurrection of life;
and they that have done evil, unto the resurrection of judgment. Jn.5:28-29
2. It is imperishable. 1Cor.15:42
3. The first man Adam became a living soul. 1Cor.15:45
4. The last Adam is a life-giving spirit. 1Cor.15:45
5. The imperishable body fits to live in heaven! 1Cor.15:50-52
6. Thus in Heaven there will be no more death of the body! 1Cor.15:54
D. Where is Heaven?
1. For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel,
and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds,
to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. 1Thes.4:16-17
2. Wherefore comfort one another with these words. 1Thes.4:18
3. For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true;
but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us:
E. Jesus taught us to pray this prayer! Matt.6:9-13
1. This, then, is how you should pray: Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come, your will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Matt.6:9-10
2. Give us today our daily bread. Matt.6:11
3. Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. Matt.6:12
4. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. Matt.6:13
5. Therefore, be perfect as the Father in heaven is perfect! Matt.5:48
