Shrink back into perdition!
Main scriptures for this study: Heb.10:39
1. We are not of them that shrink back into perdition!
2. We are of them that believe to the saving of our souls!
A. 2000 years ago, the Jews had to come out of their Moses’ tradition!
1. Jesus said: All authority in heaven and on earth has been given unto me. Matt.28:18
2. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations.
Baptize them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Matt.28:19
3. Teach them to obey everything I have commanded you. Matt.28:20
4. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age. Matt.28:20
B. Jesus also said these!
1. I come not to destroy the law but to fulfill it! Matt.5:17
2. You have heard it was said: You shall not murder! Matt.5:21
But I tell you: You shall not be angry at your brother! Matt.5:22
3. Read on to 5:48 you find 6 ‘but I tell you’!
4. For all the prophets and the law prophesied until John. Matt.11:13
C. Paul wrote these!
1. For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believes. Ro.10:4
2. Therefore no one will be declared righteous in his sight by observing the law.
Rather, through the law we become conscious of sin. Ro.3:20
3. For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from observing the law. Ro.3:28
D. Paul was persecuted! Acts 18:13-16
1. This man is persuading the people to worship God in ways contrary to the law. Acts 18:13
2. Gallio said to the Jews: If you Jews were making a complaint about some misdemeanor or
serious crime, it would be reasonable for me to listen to you. Acts 18:14
3. But since it involves questions about words and names and your own law—
settle the matter yourselves. I will not be a judge of such things. Acts 18:15
4. So he had them ejected from the court. Acts 18:16
E. No longer live as the Gentiles! Eph.4:17-24
1. So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do,
in the futility of their thinking. Eph.4:17
2. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God
because of the ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Eph.4:18
3. Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality
so as to indulge in every kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more. Eph.4:19
4. You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being
corrupted by its deceitful desires; to be made new in the attitude of your minds. Eph.4:22-23
5. And to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. Eph.4:24
F. Dare to show up in worship to God in a church of Christ on Sunday! Heb.10:21-39
1. Having an high priest over the house of God. Heb.10:21
2. Let us draw near with a true heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an
evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Heb.10:22
3. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering. Heb.10:23
4. And let us consider one another to provoke unto love and to good works. Heb.10:24
5. Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one
another: and so much the more, as you see the day approaching. Heb.10:25
6. For if we sin willfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remain no more
sacrifice for sins. But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall
devour the adversaries. Heb.10-26-27
G. Conclusion:
The world and denomination insist not to follow Jesus Bible way and perish!
We can insist to follow Jesus Bible way to the saving of our souls!
