Believe Jesus according to the Bible? 9
There is no divorce!
A. There is marital duty! 1Cor.7:1-9
1. It is good for a man not to touch a woman. 1Cor7:1
2. To avoid fornication each man should have his own wife. 1Cor.7:2
3. Each woman should have her own husband. 1Cor.7:2
4. The husband should fulfill his marital duty to his wife. 1Cor.7:3
5. The wife should fulfill her marital duty to her husband. 1Cor.7:3
6. The wife’s body does not belong to her alone but also to her husband. 1Cor.7:4
7. The husband’s body does not belong to him alone but also to his wife. 1Cor.7:4
8. Each man has his own gift from God. One has this, another has that. 1Cor.7:7
9. To the unmarried and the widows I say: It is good for them to stay unmarried, as I am. 1Cor.7:8
10. But if they cannot control themselves, they should marry.
For it is better to marry than to burn with passion! 1Cor.7:9
11. A wife is bound for as long as her husband lives; but if the husband be dead,
she is free to be married to whom she will; only in the Lord. 1Cor.7:39
12. But she is happier if she abide as she is, after my judgment:
and I think that I also have the Spirit of God. 1Cor.7:40
B. All we need is this verse from the Bible! Matt.19:6
1. Husband and wife are no more two but one flesh!
2. Did anyone ever say till death do us part during a marriage ceremony?
3. No one can separate one flesh into 2 equal parts and still live!
4. What therefore God had joined together, let not man put asunder! Matt.19:6
5. God said so! Who dare to disobey?
6. Yes, I know Satan and his people dare to disobey!
7. God already prepared a hell for them! Matt.25:41
C. And there is this one!
1. Be ye angry, and sin not. Let not the sun go down upon your anger! Eph.4:26
2. One big reason for divorce is piling up anger within the heart!
3. Way before anger boiling over to cause a divorce, one has ceased to believe Jesus!
4. It is good for your health too! If we all practice this teaching!
D. Being these kinds of people divorce will not happen! Col.3:12-13
1. Therefore, as God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved, clothe yourselves with compassion,
kindness, humility, gentleness and patience. Col.3:12
2. Bear with each other and forgive whatever grievances you may have against one another.
Forgive as the Lord forgave you. Col.3:13
E. These will keep all married couples together forever! Eph.5:22-25
1. Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord. Eph.5:22
2. Husband is the head of the wife, as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the savior of the body.
3. Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ,
so let the wives be to their own husbands in everything. Eph.5:24
4. Husbands, love your wives, as Christ loved the church, and gave himself for it. Eph.5:25
F. Yes, there is this except for fornication! Matt.19:9
1. Jesus said: Whosoever shall put away his wife, except for fornication, … Matt.19:9
2. Flee fornication. Every sin that a man does is without the body.
But he that commits fornication sinned against his own body! 1Cor.6:18
3. Even as Sodom and Gomorra, and the cities about them in like manner,
giving themselves over to fornication, and going after strange flesh,
are set forth for an example, suffering the vengeance of eternal fire. Jude 1:7
