If you can't do these, then better don't!
Because it would add sins rather than add blessing!
Be smarter! Idol worshippers, though ignorant, they think they can add blessings for self and children!
A. Yes, believe Jesus according to the Bible you get these!
1. Abide in Jesus’ teaching! You will know the truth and the truth will set you free. Jn.8:31-32
2. Now the Lord of peace himself gives you peace at all times in all ways. 2Thes.3:16
3. God will strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your soul. Eph.3:16
This way you become able to do the good you want to do! Ro.7:15
4. You will not perish but have eternal life! Jn.3:16
5. For my Father’s will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life,
and I will raise him up at the last day. Jn.6:40
6. Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison
to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days.
Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you the crown of life. Rev.2:10
7. Then I heard a voice from heaven say: Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.
The Spirit says: Yes, they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them." Rev.14:13
B. If you can't abide in Jesus' teaching, it is better you don't believe!
1. If you can’t abide in Jesus’ teaching, you are not a disciple of Christ!
But others may mistakenly think that you are a disciple of Christ!
By this you mislead people! This would be one more sin on your head!
2. You will not know the truth. Thus you are not free from sins! Jn.8:32
3. Jesus will say you belong to the devil! Jn.8:44
4. If you can't worship God on Sunday in a church of Christ, it is better that you don't!
5. Sunday worship not in Spirit and in truth would be more sins keep piling up on you! Jn.4:24
C. Listen to what Apostle Peter said! 2Peter 2:20-22
1. If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and
are again entangled in it and overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning.
2. It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known
it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them. 2Peter 2:21
D. If you can’t watch out for false prophets, it is better that you don’t! Matt.7:15-23
1. False prophets come to you in sheep clothing!
2. By their fruit you will know them! Matt.7:15-16
3. What is their fruit?
a. Thinking about fruit of the Spirit? Gal.5:22-23
b. Think about their good deeds that make others glorify God? Matt.5:16
c. Join them in doing all the good deeds? 2Jn.1:9-11
d. Join them and be a part of their denomination church? Titus 3:10-11
Then you better be ready to be in hell forever with them! Gal.1:8
4. Their fruit is the product of their good deeds, the church they set up!
5. Remember to ask this easy simple question: Is the name of your church in the Bible?!
If you can’t even ask so simple a question, you have no chance anyway?
6. Do not let their good deeds fool you! False prophets will do many good deeds! Matt.7:22
Jesus will clearly say to them: You devil doers depart from me, I never knew you! Matt.7:23
7. Never forget this! False prophets come to you in sheep clothing!
8. Remember Paul and Barnabas went out to preach God’s word, did many good deeds! Acts 13-14
What was the product of their good deeds? Church of Christ in every city! Acts 14:23
E. Conclusion: Count your blessings that you are reading this sermon!
1. Jesus is the Christ. Matt.16:15-17, Jn.4:24, Acts 2:36.
2. Jesus purchased the church with his blood! Acts 20:28
3. What name should it be called? Church of Christ!
4. If you can’t be a part of the church of Christ it is better you never believe Jesus!
