Preface: Not only peace of mind but also peace for as long as we live!
A. Jesus wanted us all to have peace!
1. Jesus was raise on the early morning of the first day of the week. Matt.28:1
2. On the evening of that 1st day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked
for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said: Peace be with you! Jn.20:19
3. Before he went back to heaven Jesus said: Jn.14:27
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives.
Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.
4. Again Jesus said: Peace be with you! As the Father has sent me, I am sending you. Jn.20:21
5. A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Jn.20:26
Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said: Peace be with you!
B. Apostle Paul put it this way! Phil.4:4-9
1. Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Phil.4:4
2. Let your moderation be known unto all men. The Lord is at hand. Phil.4:5
a. Too bad, the NIV Bible changed the meaning into gentleness!
b. Moderation and gentleness are not even synonyms!
***c. Moderation means self-control become able to do things fit the occasion!
3. In nothing be anxious; but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving
let your requests be made known unto God. Phil.4:6
4. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding,
will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Phil.4:7
5. Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is just,
whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—
if anything is excellent or praiseworthy-- think about such things. Phil.3:8
6. Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—
put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you. Phil.4:9
7. How does this possible? Back to Phil.4:7
And the peace of God, which passes all understanding,
shall guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus.
8. Forget about whoever said or say whatever!
The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it? Jer.17:9
9. The best human can give is Confucius’ formula!
Peace on earth begins with righteousness in the heart. Then there will be harmony in the home!
Then there will be order in the nation. Then there will be peace on earth!
2600 years has gone by, there is no peace on earth!
C. Building the kingdom of God is the way! Acts.1:3-6
1. After his suffering, he showed himself to these men and gave many convincing proofs that he was
alive. He appeared to them over a period of forty days and spoke about the kingdom of God. Ac.1:3
2. On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: Do not leave
Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. Ac.1:4
3. For John baptized with water, but in a few days you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit. Ac.1:5
4. After being baptized with water, one needs to be baptized with the Holy Spirit!
Become able to preach the one gospel to build churches of Christ all over the world!
5. When churches of Christ is all over, peace on earth!
D. How to build churches of Christ around the world? Heb.10:16-20
1. When sins are no more. Peace is yours! Heb.10:17
2. But 1st God’s words have to be printed and remember in hearts and minds! Heb.10:16
3. This is accomplished by a new and living way through the body of Christ!
E. Conclusion: When churches of Christ is all over the world, we all have peace! Guarantee!
