Jesus’ believers are able to handle things with moderation!

Main Scripture for this study:  Let your moderation be known unto all men…. Phil.4:5

1. Thank God, in my days, in Hong Kong.

    Depend on British law I can believe Jesus, obey law, do righteous, had peace!

2. Thank God, in America.

    Depend on American constitution I can believe Jesus, obey law, do righteous, have peace!

3. Sad and pitiful, Paul tried to depend on Roman Empire Law to do the same!

    Eventually he was murdered by Jewish religious believers!

A. First remember this: Believe Jesus does not mean sit and be mutilated!

1. There is for God so love the world. Jn.3:16.  There is also God’s wrath abide on him! Jn.3:36

2. Jesus said to them: But now if you have a purse, take, and also a bag.

    And if you do not have a sword, sell you clothes and buy one. Luke 22:36

3. It is written: And he was reckoned with lawless people.

    And I tell you that this must be fulfilled in me… Luke 22:37

B. Yes, Jesus did say this!

1. Put your sword back in its place.  For all who draw the sword will die by the sword. Matt.26:52

2. Apostle John wrote these:  Jesus commanded Peter: Put your sword away!

    Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given me? John 18:11

3. Father forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing… Lk.23-34

4. Jesus said: Take my yoke upon you and learn from me,

    for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. Matt.11:29

C. Yes, Jesus had compassion for countless people!

1. Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues,\

    preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. Matt.9:35

2. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless,

    like sheep without a shepherd. Matt.9:36

3. A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees:

    If you are willing, you can make me clean." Mk.1:40

4. Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man.

   "I am willing," he said. "Be clean!" Mk.1:42

5. Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cured. Mk.1:42

D. Yes, Apostle Paul said these!

1. We work hard with our own hands.

    When we are cursed, we bless; when we are persecuted, we endure it. 1Cor.4:12

2. When we are slandered, we answer kindly.

    Up to this moment we have become the scum of the earth, the refuse of the world. 1Cor.4:13

E. Now watch what Jesus said and did:

1. Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. Jn.10:17

2. No man takes it from me, but I lay it down of myself.

    I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again.

    This commandment have I received of my Father. Jn.10:18

3. Connect the above 2 with this! Heb.10:20

    By a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body.

4. In the temple courts he found men selling cattle, sheep and doves,

    and others sitting at tables exchanging money. Jn.2:14

5. So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple area, both sheep and cattle;

    he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. Jn.2:15

6. To those who sold doves he said: Get these out of here!

    How dare you turn my Father's house into a market!" Jn.2:16

7. His disciples remembered that it is written: Zeal for your house will consume me. Jn.2:17

F. Now watch what Paul did!

1. And said, O full of all subtlety and all mischief, you son of the devil, you enemy of all righteousness,

    wilt thou not cease to pervert the right ways of the Lord? Ac.13:10

2. And now, behold, the hand of the Lord is upon thee, and thou shalt

    be blind, not seeing the sun for a season. And immediately there fell on him a mist and a darkness;

    and he went about seeking some to lead him by the hand. Ac.13:11

Conclusion: Let us be known to all we are able to handle all things fit all occasion!
