A. Can settle with what the Bible says!
1. Some men came down from Judea to Antioch and were teaching the brothers:
Unless you are circumcised, according to the custom taught by Moses, you cannot be saved. Ac.15:1
2. This brought Paul and Barnabas into sharp dispute and debate with them.
So Paul and Barnabas were appointed, along with some other believers,
to go up to Jerusalem to see the apostles and elders about this question. Ac.15:2
3. The apostles and elders met to consider this question. Ac.15:6
4. When Apollos wanted to go to Achaia, the brothers encouraged him and wrote to the disciples there
to welcome him. On arriving, he was a great help to those who by grace had believed. Ac.18:27
For he vigorously refuted the Jews in public debate,
proving from the Scriptures that Jesus was the Christ. Ac.18:28
5. Nowadays we settle with the Bible says!
B. Able to forgive even his deadly enemies!
1. Then his disciples said to each other: Could someone have brought him food? Jn.4:33
2. Jesus said: My food is to do the will of him who sent me and to finish his work. Jn.4:34
3. Pilate answered, Am I a Jew? Your own nation and the chief priests delivered you to me!
What have you done? Jn.18:35
4. Jesus answered: My kingdom is not of this world.
If my kingdom were of this world, then would my servants fight, that I should not be delivered to the Jews:
but now is my kingdom not from hence. Matt.18:36
5. Going a little farther, he fell with his face to the ground and prayed:
My Father, if it is possible, may this cup be taken from me. Yet not as I will, but as you will. Matt.26:39
6. He went away a second time and prayed:
My Father, if it is not possible for this cup to be taken away unless I drink it, may your will be done. Matt.26:42
7. Jesus said: Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing."Lk.23:34
8. At this, the having believed Jews picked up stones to stone him.
But Jesus hid himself, slipping away from the temple grounds. Jn.8:59
C. Human has the courage to clean up his own mess!
1. The Pharisee stood up and prayed about himself: God, I thank you that I am not like other men—
robbers, evildoers, adulterers-- or even like this tax collector. Lk.18:11
2. I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get. Lk.18:12
3. But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said:
God, have mercy on me, a sinner. Lk.18:13
4. I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. Lk.18:14
D. Human live up to his words! 2Cor.1:16-20
1. I planned to visit you on my way to Macedonia and to come back to you from Macedonia,
and then to have you send me on my way to Judea. 2Cor.1:16
2. When I planned this, did I do it lightly?
Or do I make my plans in a worldly manner so that in the same breath I say: "Yes, yes" and "No, no"? 2Cor.1:17
3. But as surely as God is faithful, our message to you is not "Yes" and "No." 2Cor.1:8
4. For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by me and Silas and Timothy,
was not "Yes" and "No," but in him it has always been "Yes." 2Cor.1:19
5. For no matter how many promises God has made, they are "Yes" in Christ.
And so through him the "Amen" is spoken by us to the glory of God. 2Cor.1:20
E. A human God intended to be is able to practice Matt.7:12!
1. I think many if not most may not even know what Matt.7:12 say!
2. It is the world’s golden rule--> As you would others do to you, do the same to others!
3. If you are a human God intended to be, you are able to practice this!
Conclusion: Be a human! Read these--> Matt.25:41, Lk.8:28, Acts 13:11 and Revelation chapter 20!
May the Lord bless you and keep you always! Preach this September 16, 2018.
