A. As a preacher I have to present what says in the Bible!
1. If anyone speaks, he should do it as one speaking the very words of God…
so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ… 1Peter 4:11
2. But even if we or an angel from heaven should preach a gospel other than the one we preached to you,
let him be condemned! Gal.1:8
3. Watch your life and doctrine closely.
Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers. 1Tim.4:16
B. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy!
1. Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of
the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness. Matt.9:35
2. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless,
like sheep without a shepherd. Matt.9:36
3. When Jesus landed and saw a large crowd, he had compassion on them and healed their sick. Matt.14:14
4. Jesus called his disciples to him and said: I have compassion for these people.
They have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat.
I do not want to send them away hungry, or they may collapse on the way." Matt.15:32
5. A man with leprosy came to him and begged him on his knees. If you are willing, you can make me clean.
Filled with compassion, Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. He said: I am willing, Be clean!
Immediately the leprosy left him and he was cured. Mk.1:40-42
6. Jesus said: I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep. Jn.10:11
7. For God so love the world that he gave his begotten Son.
Whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. Jn.3:16
***The above is half of the truth! I can’t stop here!***
C. In the Old Testament time the Lord did many of these!
1. While the Israelites were in the desert, a man was found gathering wood on the Sabbath day. 15:32
2. Those who found him gathering wood brought him to Moses and Aaron and the whole assembly,
and they kept him in custody, because it was not clear what should be done to him. Num.15:34
3. Then the Lord said to Moses: The man must die.
4. The whole assembly must stone him outside the camp. So the assembly took him outside the camp
and stoned him to death, as the Lord commanded Moses. Num.15:35-36
D. The Lord did these in the New Testament time!
1. When it was almost time for the Jewish Passover, Jesus went up to Jerusalem. Jn.2:13
In the temple courts he found men selling cattle, sheep and doves, and others sitting at tables
exchanging money. Jn.2:14
So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple area, both sheep and cattle;
he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables. Jn.2:15
To those who sold doves he said: Get these out of here!
How dare you turn my Father's house into a market!" Jn.2:16
2. To the having believed Jews Jesus said: You belong to your father, the devil. Jn.8:31-44
3. To those preach in his name, cast out demons in his name, do many mighty works in his name
Jesus said: I never knew you! You evil doers, depart from me! Matt.7:22-23
E. God punishes evil people even after they died and become ghost! Jn.5:28-29
1. Do not be amazed at this, for a time is coming when all who are in their graves will hear his voice
and come out—
those who have done good will rise to live, and those who have done evil will rise to be condemned.
2. Then he will say to those on his left: Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire
prepared for the devil and his angels. Matt.25:41
E. Conclusion: Yes, the Lord is full of compassion and mercy! James 5:11
1. Whoever believes, in the Son has eternal life,
but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God's wrath remains on him. Jn.3:36
2. Today we have seen! God is full of compassion and mercy! James 5:11
God is also full of wrath and cruelty! It all depend on are you good or evil!
3. It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Heb.10:31
4. Jesus said: Be ye perfect as the Father in heaven is perfect! Matt.5:48
