Live by faith what does it mean?
Main scripture for this study:
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. Gal.2:20
The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
A. Be sure to know who is the ‘I have been crucified’?
1. It is the soul been crucified!
2. Why the soul been crucified but still directing the hand to write these words?
3. In baptism one died, buried and resurrected with Christ! Ro.6:3-4
4. I no longer live but Christ lives in me!
5. Such as I am here worshiping God. The Spirit of Christ persuaded me to come here!
6. This is I no longer live, but Christ lives in me!
B. What is the life I live in the body mean?
1. We know man was created a living soul to live in a body! Gen.2:7
2. Each human has spirit, soul and body. 1Thes.5:23
3. Without the spirit, the body is dead! James 2:26
4. At dead of the body his spirit returns to God who gave it! Ecc.12:7
5. At dead of the body his body returns to dust where it comes! Ecc.12:7
6. Therefore, it is the life of the soul live in the body.
C. Understanding 2Cor.5:1-10!
1. For we know that if the earthly house of our tabernacle be dissolved.
We have a building from God, a house not made with hands, eternal, in the heavens. 2Cor.5:1
***This means when the body is dead. We will have another body made by God.
2. For verily in this we groan, longing to be clothed upon with our habitation which is from heaven:
if so be that being clothed we shall not be found naked. 2Cor.5:2-3
3. For indeed we are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened; not for that we would be unclothed,
but that we would be clothed upon, that what is mortal may be swallowed up of life. 2Cor.5:4
4. Now he that wrought us for this very thing is God, who gave us the earnest of the Spirit. 2Cor.5:5
D. Since we groan to have this eternal body we must do these! 2Cor.5:6-10
1. Being therefore always of good courage, and knowing that, while we are at home in the body,
we are absent from the Lord. (For we walk by faith, not by sight:) 2Cor.5:6-7
3. We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body,
and to be present with the Lord. 2Cor.5:8
4. So we make it our goal to please him, whether we are at home in the body or away from it. 2Co.5:9
***With the body dead or alive we must do things that please God!
5. For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ,
that each one may receive what is due him for the things done while in the body,
whether good or bad. 2Cor.5:10
E. Be ye perfect as the Father in heaven is perfect! Matt.5:48.
1. This actually is the sure and easy way!
2. There is the church of Christ there is the righteousness of God from faith to unto faith! Ro.1:17
3. Yes, the righteous shall live by faith! Ro.1:17
4. As long as you are in the church of Christ which is the body of Christ!
God is eternally full of compassion and mercy!
F. Make your choice!
1. The judge declared: Go ye into all the world and preach the gospel to all creations! Mk.16:15
He who believes and is baptized will be saved! He who believes not will be condemned! Mk.16:16
2. Face judgment now --> believe, repent, be baptized for forgiveness of sins… Acts 2:36-42
3. Face judgment after become ghost -->
Ghost will be judged for the things done while in the body! Rev. 20:12-14
3. Remember: It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God! Heb.10:31
