What is the real outward witness of inward faith?
A. Denomination churches preach: Water baptism is an outward witness of inward faith!
1. Not truth! Water baptism is for forgiveness of sins! Mk.16:16, Ac.2:38, Ac.22:16, 1 Peter 3:21
2. Water baptism and faith is the same one thing in the Bible! Ac.19:4-5
Paul said: John's baptism was a baptism of repentance.
He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus. Ac.19:4
On hearing this, they were baptized into the name of the Lord Jesus. Ac.19:5
B. Real outward witness of inward faith is knows the truth in the Bible! James 2:17-22
1. To the having believed Jews, Jesus said: If you abide in my words you are truly my disciples. Jn.8:31
2. Then you will know the truth and the truth will make you free. Jn.8:32
3. Therefore, know the truth in the Bible is the real outward witness of inward faith!
4. Jesus said the same thing in Matt.13:10-11!
His disciples ask: Why do you speak to the people with parables?
Jesus replied: The secret wisdom of the kingdom of heaven has been given to you not to them!
5. Ask their Bible scholars to see if any know how to be perfect as the Father in heaven is perfect! Matt.5:48
Ask them is the name of your church in the Bible?
You have a 99.9% chance to find out they are people from the devil! Matt.5:37
6. Can they detect there is a question posted to Jesus in Jn.3:1-3?
7. Do they know why the having believed Jews seek to kill Jesus? Jn.8:31-40
C. Works produced by faith is real outward witness of inward faith!
1. Faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by works is dead! James 2:17
2. Someone will say: You have faith, I have works.
Show me your faith without works, and I will show you my faith by my works. James 2:18
3. You believe that there is one God. Good! Even the demons believe that-- and shudder. James 2:19
4. But wilt you know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead? James 2:20
5. Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar? Ja.2:21
6. See, thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect? James 2:22
7. Now I desire to put you in remembrance, though ye know all things once for all, that the Lord,
having saved a people out of the land of Egypt, afterward destroyed them that believed not. Jude 1:5
D. The name of the church is the ultimate outward witness of inward faith!
1. Preaching is liken to farmers sowing the seed! Lk.8:11.
2. The seed is God’s word! Lk.8:11
3. 2000 years ago, Peter, Paul, John… preached God’s word they produced churches of Christ! Ro.16:16
4. Today and forever anywhere, anytime, anyone preached the word have to produce churches of Christ!
Otherwise they will all go to hell! Gal.1:8 (Absolutely, no one can run!)
E. Why do you think God did not grant to them the name church of Christ?
1. Because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved. 2Thes.2:10
2. And for this cause God sends them a powerful delusion, that they should believe a lie: that they all
might be judged who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness. 2Thes.2:11-12
F. Why do you think God granted us the name church of Christ?
1. But we are bound to give thanks to God always for you, brethren beloved of the Lord, for that God chose
you from the beginning unto salvation in sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: 2Thes.2:13
2. Whereunto he called you through our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.2:14
3. So then, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions which you were taught,
whether by word, or by epistle of ours. 2Thes.2:15
4. Because we love to receive the love of the truth. 2Thes.2:10
5. Because God has chosen to send us the Spirit of truth! Jn.16:12-14, 2Thes.2:13
G. Their church name is their ultimate outward witness of their inward faith!
1. Denomination is warped, sinful and self-condemned! Titus 3:10-11
2. Denomination people walk around telling people: Our church belongs to s0o and so denomination!
3. Denomination people believe a lie. They received not the love of the truth!
4. God has sent them a powerful delusion to make sure they go to hell!
H. Conclusion: Now that I have told you the truth!
Will you receive the love of the truth and immediately come to churches of Christ?
