A. Watch out for false prophets. Matt.7:15-23
1. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves. Matt.7:15
2. By their fruit you will recognize them.
Do people pick grapes from thorn bushes, or figs from thistles? Matt.7:16
3. Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. Matt.7:17
4. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them. Matt.7:20
5. Not everyone who says to me, `Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven,
but only he who does the will of my Father who is in heaven. Matt.7:21
6. Many will say to me on that day, `Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in your name,
and in your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?' Matt.7:22
7. Then I will tell them plainly: I never knew you. Away from me, you evildoers! Matt.7:23
8. For false Christs and false prophets will appear and perform signs and miracles to deceive the elect—
if that were possible. Mark 13:22
B. But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days. 2Tim.3:1
1. People will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, proud, abusive, disobedient to their parents.
Ungrateful, unholy, without love, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not lovers of the good,
treacherous, rash, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God— 2Tim.3:2-4
2. Having a form of godliness but denying its power. Have nothing to do with them. 2Tim.3:5
3. They are the kind who worm their way into homes and gain control over weak-willed women,
who are loaded down with sins and are swayed by all kinds of evil desires,
always learning but never able to acknowledge the truth. 2Tim.3:6-7
C. Deceive the perishing people!
1. The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of
counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders, and in every sort of evil that deceives those who are perishing.
They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved. 2Thes.2:9-10
2. For this reason God sends them a powerful delusion so that they will believe the lie and so that all will be
condemned who have not believed the truth but have delighted in wickedness. 2Thes.2:11-12
D. There are these kinds of people!
I will only read what says in the Bible! No comment from me!
1. The would be better if had not been born people!
The Son of Man will go just as it is written about him.
But woe to that man who betrays the Son of Man!
It would be better for him if he had not been born. Matt.26:24
2. The born only to be caught and destroy people! 2 Peter 2:12-13
But these men blaspheme in matters they do not understand.
They are like brute beasts, creatures of instinct, born only to be caught and destroyed,
and like beasts they too will perish. 2 Peter 2:12
3. And shall receive the reward of unrighteousness, as they that count it pleasure to riot in the day time.
Spots they are and blemishes, sporting themselves with their own deceiving while they feast with you.
Having eyes full of adultery, and that cannot cease from sin; beguiling unstable souls:
an heart they have exercised with covetous practices; cursed children. 2 Peter 2:13-14
4. Pay attention to “count it pleasure to riot in the day time” mean!
a. Not parade on the street to celebrate super bowl win events!
b. It is all kinds of unscriptural rituals in worship to God!
E. There are the beloved people in the churches of Christ!
1. But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers loved by the Lord.
2. Because from the beginning God chose you to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit
and through belief in the truth. 2Thes.2:13
2. God called you to this through our gospel,
that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ. 2Thes.2:14
3. So then, brothers, stand firm and hold to the teachings we passed on to you,
whether by word of mouth or by letter. 2Thes.2:15
4. May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal
encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.
