Believers will be where the truth is!

Believers will be where the truth is!

A. On this earth the truth is in the church of Christ!

1. I purposely put this statement at the beginning!

2. Those hated it can save time!  They do not need to know anyway!

3. Jesus kept the truth for his disciples! Matt. 13:10-11

B. Jesus said: My sheep listen to my voice! Jn.10:24-28

1. The Jews gathered around him, saying: How long will you keep us in suspense?

If you are the Christ, tell us plainly. Jn.10:24

2. Jesus answered: I did tell you, but you do not believe.

The miracles I do in my Father's name speak for me. Jn.10:25

3. But you do not believe because you are not my sheep. Jn.10:26

4. My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. Jn.10:27

5. I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one can snatch them out of my hand. Jn.10:28

C. If you love me, feed my sheep! Jn.21:3-17

1. Simon Peter told them: I am going out to fish and they said, "We'll go with you."

So they went out and got into the boat, but that night they caught nothing. Jn.21:3

2. Early in the morning, Jesus stood on the shore, but the disciples did not realize that it was Jesus. Jn.21:4

3. He called out to them: Friends, haven't you any fish? "No," they answered. Jn.21:5

4. He said: Throw your net on the right side of the boat and you will find some.

When they did, they were unable to haul the net in because of the large number of fish. Jn.21:6

5. Then the disciple whom Jesus loved said to Peter: It is the Lord!

As soon as Simon Peter heard him say, "It is the Lord," he wrapped his outer garment around him

(for he had taken it off) and jumped into the water. Jn.21:7

6. The other disciples followed in the boat, towing the net full of fish, for they were not far from shore,

    about a hundred yards. Jn.21:8

7. When they landed, they saw a fire of burning coals there with fish on it, and some bread. Jn.21:9

8. Jesus said to them, "Bring some of the fish you have just caught." Jn.21:10

9. Simon Peter climbed aboard and dragged the net ashore.

It was full of large fish, 153, but even with so many the net was not torn. Jn.21:11

10. Jesus said to them, "Come and have breakfast."

None of the disciples dared ask him, "Who are you?" They knew it was the Lord. Jn.21:12

11. Jesus came, took the bread and gave it to them, and did the same with the fish. Jn.21:13

12. This was now the third time Jesus appeared to his disciples after he was raised from the dead. Jn.21:14

13. When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter,

"Simon son of John, do you truly love me more than these?"

"Yes, Lord," he said, "you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my lambs." Jn.21:15

14. Again Jesus said, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me?"

He answered, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Take care of my sheep." Jn.21:16

15. He said to him the third time, Simon, son of John, do you love me?

Peter was grieved because he said unto him the third time, do you love me?

And he said to him, Lord, you know all things; you know that I love you.

Jesus said to him: Feed my sheep. Jn.21:17

D. What the world do to their Christ? Matt.26:62-68

1. Then the high priest stood up and said to Jesus: Are you not going to answer?

What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you? Matt.26:62

2. But Jesus remained silent. The high priest said to him: I charge you under oath by the living God:

Tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God. Matt.26:63

3. Jesus replied: Yes, it is as you say. But I say to all of you: In the future you will see the Son of Man sitting

at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven. Matt.26:64

4. Then the high priest tore his clothes and said: He has spoken blasphemy!

Why do we need any more witnesses? Look, now you have heard the blasphemy. Matt.26:65

5. What do you think? "He is worthy of death," they answered. Matt.26:66

6. Then they spit in his face and struck him with their fists. Others slapped him and said:

Prophesy to us, Christ. Who hit you? Matt.26:67-68
