A. All the churches of Christ salute you. Ro.16:16
1. Paul and Barnabas were sent to preach the gospel! As a result churches were established!
2. Paul and Barnabas appointed elders for them in each church and, with prayer and fasting,
committed them to the Lord, in whom they had put their trust. Ac.14:23
3. Each church is to be an autonomous identity! Ac.20:28
Take heed unto yourselves, and to all the flock, in which the Holy Spirit hath made you bishops (elders),
to feed the church of the Lord which he purchased with his own blood.
4. Jesus said: If you do not believe that I am the Christ you will die in your sins. Jn.8:24
5. For the wages of sin is death; but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Ro.6:23
6. But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to the lusts. Ro.13:14
B. People are being saved this way! Ac.2:36-42
1. Therefore let all Israel be assured of this:
God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ." Ac.2:36
2. When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles:
Brothers, what shall we do? Ac.2:37
3. Peter replied: Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness
of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Ac.2:38
4. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off—
for all whom the Lord our God will call. Ac.2:39
5. With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them,
Save yourselves from this corrupt generation. Ac.2:40
6. Those who accepted his message were baptized,
and about 3000 were added to the church that day. Ac.2:41
7. They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship,
to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Ac.2:42
8. After baptism one’s life is hid with Christ in God. Col.3:1-3
a. If then ye were raised together with Christ,
seek the things that are above, where Christ is, seated on the right hand of God. Col.3:1
***Pure faith and genuine baptism, died, buried and raised with Christ all live this way!***
b. Set your mind on the things that are above, not on the things that are upon the earth. Col.3:2
c. For ye died, and your life is hid with Christ in God. Col.3:3
C. Jesus built the church on Jesus is the Christ! Matt.16:15-18
1. Jesus Asked: But what about you? Who do you say I am? Matt.16:15
2. Simon Peter answered: You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. Matt.16:16
3. Jesus replied: Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah, for this was not revealed to you by man,
but by my Father in heaven. Matt.16:17
4. And I tell you that you are Peter,
and on this rock I will build my church, and the gates of Hades will not overcome it. Matt.16:18
5. Jesus’ promise is clear! The gates of Hades will not overcome the church of Christ!
6. Always remember denomination churches are warped, sinful and self-condemned! Titus 3:10-11
D. Apostle Paul also put it this way! Eph.1:7-14
1. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches
of God's grace that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding. Eph.1:7-8
2. And he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure,
which he purposed in Christ, to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment—
to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ. Eph.1:9-10
3. In him we were also chosen, having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out
everything in conformity with the purpose of his will, in order that we,
who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory. Eph.1:11-12
4. And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation.
Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,
who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession—
to the praise of his glory. Eph.1:13-14
E. Conclusion: Then I heard a voice from heaven say, Write: Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord
from now on. "Yes," says the Spirit, "they will rest from their labor, for their deeds will follow them."
