How the 3 work within a person? (1)

How the 3 work within a person? (1)

A. God created man to be a living soul!

1. The Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life;

and man became a living soul. Gen.2:7

2. While on earth the living soul is to live in a body! 1Thes.5:23

And the God of peace himself sanctify you wholly; and may your spirit and soul and body

be preserved entire, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

3. Peter said it this way!

I think it is right to refresh your memory as long as I live in the tent of this body, because I know

that I will soon put it aside, as our Lord Jesus Christ has made clear to me. 2Peter 1:13-14

4. Each has its function in a person!

    a. The spirit is to maintain the body to live! James 2:26

At dead of the body spirit returns to God who gave it! Ecc.12:7

    b. Body is destined to return to dust where it came! Ecc.12:7

    c. At dead of the body the soul goes to paradise or Hades! Lk.16:22-23, 23:43.

B. This is how Jesus came to save the soul!

1. Therefore doth the Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I may take it again. Jn.10:17

2. No one takes it away from me, but I lay it down of myself.

I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again.

This commandment received I from my Father. Jn.10:18

2. Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holy place by the blood of Jesus, by the way

which he dedicated for us, a new and living way, through the veil, that is to say, his body. Heb.10:19-20

3. Christ is the head of the church, himself the savior of the body. Eph.5:23

4. And you, being in time past alienated and enemies in your mind in your evil works,

yet now hath he reconciled in the body of his flesh through death,

to present you holy and without blemish and unreproveable before him: Col.1:21-22

5. If so be that ye continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast,

and not moved away from the hope of the gospel which ye heard,

which was preached in all creation under heaven; whereof I Paul was made a minister. Col.1:23

6. The soul that sinned is the one who will die!

The soul who sins is the one who will die.

The son will not share the guilt of the father, nor will the father share the guilt of the son.

The righteousness of the righteous man will be credited to him,

and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against him. Eze.18:20

C. This is how your soul can be saved!

1. Let all the house of Israel therefore know assuredly, that God hath made him both Lord and Christ,

this Jesus whom ye crucified. Ac.2:36

2. Now when they heard, they were pricked in their heart,

And said unto Peter and the rest of the apostles, Brethren, what shall we do? Ac.2:37

3. And Peter (said) unto them, Repent ye, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ

unto the remission of your sins; and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Ac.2:38

4. And with many other words he testified, and exhorted them, saying:

Save yourselves from this crooked generation. Ac.2:40

5. They then that received his word were baptized:

and there were added in that day about 3000 souls. Ac.2:41

6. And they continued steadfastly in the apostles' teaching and fellowship,

in the breaking of bread and the prayers. Ac.2:42

7. Praising God, and having favor with all the people.

And the Lord added to the church day by day those that were saved. Ac.2:47

8. I heard the voice from heaven saying, Write, Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from henceforth:

yea, said the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; for their works follow with them. Rev.14:13

D. What kind of people worthy of long life? Phil.1:23-26

1. But I am in a strait betwixt the two, having the desire to depart and be with Christ.

For it is very far better: Yet to abide in the flesh is more needful for your sake. Phil.1:23-24

2. And having this confidence, I know that I shall abide, yea, and abide with you all,

for your progress and joy in the faith; that your glorying may abound in Christ Jesus in me

through my presence with you again. Phil.1:25-26

May the Lord bless you and keep you always!  Preach this June 30, 2019.
