Preface: How do you overcome a thorn in the flesh?
1. Enjoy the privilege of knowing the truth in the Bible!
2. Enjoy the joy of having brothers and sisters enjoy worship together with you!
3. Enjoy the right to ask: Is the name of your church in the Bible? Ha! Ha!
4. Enjoy the joy of being in the church of Christ!
A. 300 years of facts in front of us all!
1. Great Britain, the United Kingdom was the most powerful country for 300 years!
2. There are about 3 million self-identify as Episcopalians in U.S.
3. People all over the world think: They are Jesus’ believers!
4. With a little twist the world failed to see they do not 'believe' Jesus!
5. With a little twist in understanding is this following!
a. Jesus' believers are children of God. Ro.8:16
b. Children of God are people who practice righteousness! 1Jn.3:10
6. With 300 years of unrighteous doings the world can't recognize they are not Jesus’ believers!
7. How can God's created human be so dull!
8. This is a thorn in my flesh!
B. 300 years of facts plus seeing current unscriptural practices!
1. The name of their churches is not in the Bible!
2. Their worship is not according to the Bible!
3. Their organization is not according to the Bible!
4. How do they get 3 million self-identify followers in the U.S.A.?!
5. This is a thorn in my flesh!
C. My preaching recordings are on you tube!
1. Type xilepingan.org and click Google search my preaching come up!
2. On right hand side of my preaching there are many others preaching!
3. As a fact many do not preach according to the Bible!
4. Some have millions viewers! My preaching has the least viewers!
5. This is a thorn in my flesh!
Not because of pride! Because souls are going to hell every day!
D. Yes, God has granted us with sound wisdom! Pro.2:7
1. Yes, we seek to do righteousness! Ro.14:17
2. We even displace it on bulletin board in front of our building!
3. Yes, church of Christ is not about eating and drinking!
Yes, church of Christ is about righteousness and peace and joy in the Holy Spirit!
4. Yes, the Lord added the saved into the church of Christ! Acts 2:47
5. All the time I expect people flood into the church of Christ! But is not happening!
6. This is a thorn in my flesh!
E. Conclusion: Thank God, there is this forever comfort in the Bible! 2Cor.12:7-10
1. By reason of the exceeding greatness of the revelations that I should not be exalted overmuch,
there was given to me a thorn in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to buffet me.
That I should not be exalted overmuch! 2Cor.12:7
***In case some do not know! This thorn in the flesh is a kind of sickness!
a. God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, so that even handkerchiefs and aprons that had touched him
were taken to the sick, and their illnesses were cured and the evil spirits left them. Ac.19:11-12
b. Paul was able to raise the dead! Acts 20:7-12
c. He can’t cure his own sickness! Such a laughing ridicule for his enemies!
2. Concerning this thing I besought the Lord thrice, that it might depart from me. 2Cor.12:8
3. God has said unto me: My grace is sufficient for you: for power is made perfect in weakness.
Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my weaknesses, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.
4. Wherefore I take pleasure in weaknesses, in injuries, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ's sake:
for when I am weak, then am I strong. 2Cor.12:10
