A. This is what believes Jesus mean! Heb.13:4-6
1. I do not commit adultery. Heb.13:4
2. I keep myself free from the love of money. Heb.13:5
3. I am content with what I have. Heb.13:5
4. I can say with confidence: The Lord is my helper. Heb.13:6
5. I will not be afraid. What can man do to me! Heb.13:6
B. This is what believes Jesus mean! Ro.6:10-13
1. The death he died, he died to sin once for all. But the life he lives, he lives to God. Ro.6:10
2. In the same way, count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Ro.6:11
3. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Ro.6:12
4. Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness,
but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life;
and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness. Ro.6:13
C. This is what believes Jesus mean! Eph.4:17-32
1. So I tell you this, and insist on it in the Lord, that you must no longer live as the Gentiles do,
in the futility of their thinking. Eph.4:17
2. They are darkened in their understanding and separated from the life of God because of the
ignorance that is in them due to the hardening of their hearts. Eph.4:18
3. Having lost all sensitivity, they have given themselves over to sensuality so as to indulge in every
kind of impurity, with a continual lust for more. Eph.4:19
4. You, however, did not come to know Christ that way. Eph.4:20
5. Surely you heard of him and
were taught in him in accordance with the truth that is in Jesus. Eph.4:21
6. You were taught, with regard to your former way of life,
to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; Eph.4:22
7. to be made new in the attitude of your minds; Eph.4:23
8. and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness. Eph.4:24
D. This what believes Jesus mean! Eph.4:25-32
1. Therefore each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor,
for we are all members of one body. Eph.4:25
2. "In your anger do not sin": Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry, Eph.4:26
3. and do not give the devil a foothold. Eph.4:27
4. He who has been stealing must steal no longer, but must work, doing something useful with his own hands,
that he may have something to share with those in need. Eph.4:28
5. Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up
according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. Eph.4:29
6. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Eph.4:30
7. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Eph.4:31
8. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you. Eph.4:32
E. It means you are granted to know the truth in the Bible! 1Cor.2:11-16
1. For who among men know the things of a man, save the spirit of the man, which is in him?
Even so the things of God none know, save the Spirit of God. 1Cor.2:11
2. But we received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is from God;
that we might know the things that were freely given to us of God. 1Cor.2:12
3. Which things also we speak, not in words which man's wisdom teach, but which the Spirit teach;
combining spiritual things with spiritual (words). 1Cor.2:13
4. Now the natural man receives not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him;
and he cannot know them, because they are spiritually judged. 1Cor.2:14
5. But he that is spiritual judges all things, and he himself is judged of no man. 1Cor.2:15
6. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he should instruct him?
But we have the mind of Christ. 1Cor.2:16
F. Conclusion: This is what it means! Gal 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me.
The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
