1. For by grace have ye been saved through faith.

1. Yes, eternal life for the soul is the gift of God! Ro.6:23
a. But it is in Christ Jesus our Lord! Ro.6:23
b. How does one get in Christ Jesus our Lord to get the gift of God?
For all of you who were baptized into Christ ... Gal.3:27
2. Yes, that not of yourselves!
With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them:
"Save yourselves from this corrupt generation." Ac.2:40
3. Yes, not of works! Ask: Not of what works?
a. Because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified in his sight;
for through the law the knowledge of sin. Ro.3:20
b. We reckon therefore that a man is justified by faith apart from the works of the law. Ro.3:28
c. Yet knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ,
even we believed on Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ,
and not by the works of the law: because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified. Gal.2:16
D. Not of works? These works are signs of a living soul!
1. Now there was at Joppa a certain disciple named Tabitha, which by interpretation is called Dorcas:
this woman was full of good works and alms deeds which she did. Ac.9:36
2. But declared both to them of Damascus first and at Jerusalem, and throughout all the country of Judaea,
and also to the Gentiles, that they should repent and turn to God, doing works worthy of repentance. Ac.26:20
3. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works,
which God afore prepared that we should walk in them. Eph.2:10
4. Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself
a people for his own possession, zealous of good works. Titus 2:14
5. Even so faith, if it have not works, is dead in itself. James 2:17
6. Thou seest that faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect. James 2:22
7. For as the body apart from the spirit is dead, even so faith apart from works is dead. James 2:26
8. And I heard the voice from heaven saying:
Write, Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from henceforth:
yea, saith the Spirit, that they may rest from their labors; for their works follow with them. Rev.14:13
E. Conclusion: Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you.
Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord.
Because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1 Cor.15:58
