How does God draw man to Christ to be saved?
A. Scriptures for this study:
1. Jesus said: No one can come to me unless the Father enabled him. Jn.6:65
2. No man can come to me, except the Father that sent me draw him:
and I will raise him up in the last day. (Jn.6:44)
3. It is written in the prophets, and they shall all be taught of God.
***One who heard from the Father, and had learned, comes unto me. Jn.6:45
4. All your children shall be taught of God; and great shall be the peace
of your children. Isa.54:13
5. In righteousness you shall be established; oppression shall be far from
you. Fear and terror shall not come near you. Isa.54:14
B. Paul lays out the details! Romans.10:13-17
1. Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. Ro.10:13
This verse must be read all the way to Ro.10:17.
2. How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? Ro.10:14
It is clear unless one believes in the Lord, he cannot call!
3. How can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? Ro.10:14
Before one can believe, he has to hear about Him!
4. How can they hear without someone preaching to them? Ro.10:14
So a preacher is needed too!
5. How can they preach unless they are sent? Ro.10:15
What does send mean? Who sent them? How to send them? Ac.13:1-3 Ph.4:15
6. How beautiful are the feet of the preachers? Ro.10:15
Not literally that they have beautiful feet!
It simply means wherever they went preaching, man shall believe Jesus,
repent of their sins, baptized in the name of Jesus Christ, receive the
gift of the Holy Spirit, become able to do righteousness in this life!
7. Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the message is
heard through the word of Christ. Ro.10:17
Preachers are instructed to preach the word of Christ!
As the sermon I preached on March 22, 2009 said, let no man deceive you!
Preachers are to preach the word of Christ. This means preach what is
recorded in the Bible! To this wise, Apostle Peter put it this way in
1 Peter 4:11--> Preachers must preach words from the mouth of God!
This is why we always encourage our brethren to study he Bible as the
Bereans Christians did 2000 years ago!
C. When this process is practiced the following will happen! Acts 6:7
1. So the word of God spread. Number of disciples in Jerusalem increased
rapidly, and a large number of priests became obedient to the faith.
Yes, when people have time to study the Bible, they will become members
of the church! If denomination preachers come to study Bible with us
they will become member of the church too!
2. Paul and Barnabas preached the word of God in Derbe and won a large
number of disciples… Acts 14:21
3. Many of them that heard the word believed, and the number of the men
came to about five thousand. Acts 4:4
4. This was why Paul, before he died, he told Timothy to preach the word;
be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—
with great patience and careful instruction. 2 Tim.4:2
D. In a time like this it is a miracle that we survive!
Do you know how hard it is to get people to come study Bible together!?
Look like, everyone has a legitimate reason not to attend Bible study!
Concerning church life, this one thing is like a dagger in a man’s heart!
Can you imagine a man living with a dagger pierced in his heart!-->miracle!
