A. What does freedom mean in America?
1. New York State Governor Cuomo gave us a simple definition!
2. Away from responsibility freedom ceased!
3. This is about the "stay home save life" order! "Stay home" to save life is everyone's responsibility!
4. Yes, you are free, as long as you stay home to help save life!
5. When you go out roaming around your freedom ceased! You can be arrested and fine $1000.
***Responsibility always precedes freedom! So please stay home to help save life!
B. A sinner’s responsibility! Matt.27:1-5
1. Early in the morning, all the chief priests and the elders of the people came to the decision
to put Jesus to death. Matt.27:1
2. They bound him, led him away and handed him over to Pilate, the governor. Matt.27:2
3. When Judas, who had betrayed him, saw that Jesus was condemned,
he was seized with remorse and returned the 30 silver coins to the chief priests and the elders. Matt.27:3
4. He said: I have sinned for I have betrayed innocent blood.
They replied: What is that to us? That's your responsibility. Matt.27:4 (Greek dictionary number is 3708)
5. So Judas threw the money into the temple and left. Then he went away and hanged himself. Matt.27:5
Judas’ responsibility is died the body and his soul go to hell!
6. Thank God! I found this! I would never able to think about this one!
It is each one’s responsibility to be in church of Christ for the salvation of body and soul! Ac.4:12
C. A national responsibility! Matt.27:22-25
1. Pilate asked: What shall I do, then, with Jesus who is called Christ?
They all answered: Crucify him! Matt.27:22
2. Pilate asked: Why? What crime has he committed?
But they shouted all the louder: Crucify him! Matt.27:23
*** Shouldn’t they have said, he healed the sick, cleanse the leprosy, he did too much good things…!
3. When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that instead an uproar was starting,
he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd.
He said: I am innocent of this man's blood, it is your responsibility! Matt.27:24
4. All the people answered: Let his blood be on us and on our children! Matt.27:25
5. They did this too! When Silas and Timothy came from Macedonia,
Paul devoted himself exclusively to preaching, testifying to the Jews that Jesus was the Christ. Ac.18:5
But when the Jews opposed Paul and became abusive, he shook out his clothes in protest and said to them:
Your blood be on your own heads! (They proudly took responsibility!)
I am clear of my responsibility. From now on I will go to the Gentiles. Ac.18:6
D. Here is the way to be free from a sinner’s responsibilities! Jn.8:31-32
1. Having believed Jesus is Lord and Christ. Jn.8:31, Ac.2:36.
2. Abide in his word, devotes oneself in the Apostle’s teaching. Jn.8:31, Ac.2:42
3. You will know the truth. The truth will make you free! Jn.:32
E. Responsibility in the church.
1. By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving
thanks to his name. Heb.13:15
***Go to hell to those give me sound of music instrument with lips in Sunday worship to God!
Use their lips to make music instrument sound in concert with Michael Jackson! Get rich that way!
Think about how much money and trouble they could save from keeping all those instruments!
2. But to do good and to communicate forget not: for with such sacrifices God is well pleased. Heb.13:16
3. Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that
must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.Heb.13:17
4. Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Spirit had made you
overseers, to feed the church of Christ, which he hath purchased with his own blood. Ac.20:28
5. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock.20:29
6. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to draw away disciples after them.Ac.20:30
7. Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work
of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain. 1Cor.15:58
F. Conclusion: As a follower of Christ, live well for the church is your number one responsibility! Matt.6:33
