The nature of God!

The nature of God!

A. God is love! 1Jn.4:8

1. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son,

that whoever believe on him should not perish, but have eternal life. Jn.3:16

2. He that believe on the Son hath eternal life; but he that obey not the Son shall not see life,

but the wrath of God abide on him. Jn.3:36

3. I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd lay down his life for the sheep. Jn.10:11

4. But God commend his own love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. Ro.5:8

5. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins,

and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1Jn.1:9

B. Get out or be in hell! 2Cor.6:14-18

1. Be not unequally yoked with unbelievers: for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity?

Or what communion hath light with darkness? 2Cor.6:14

2. And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what portion hath a believer with an unbeliever? 6:15

3. And what agreement hath a temple of God with idols? For we are a temple of the living God; even as God said,

I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 6:16

4. Wherefore Come ye out from among them, and be ye separate, said the Lord, And touch no unclean thing;

And I will receive you. 2Cor.6:17

5. And will be to you a Father, And ye shall be to me sons and daughters, said the Lord Almighty. 2Cor.6:18

Lot and his kinsmen as example! Gen.19:12-26

a. Two angels told Lot: Do you have anyone else here-- sons-in-law, sons or daughters, or anyone else in the city

who belongs to you? Get them out of here, because we are going to destroy this place.

The outcry to the Lord against its people is so great that he has sent us to destroy it. Gen.19:12-13

b. So Lot went out and spoke to his sons-in-law, who were pledged to marry his daughters.

He said: Hurry and get out of this place, because the Lord is about to destroy the city!

But his sons-in-law thought he was joking. Gen.19:14

c. When he hesitated, the men grasped his hand and the hands of his wife and of his two daughters and led

them safely out of the city, for the Lord was merciful to them. Gen.19:16

d. As soon as they had brought them out, one of them said: Flee for your lives! Gen.19:17

Don't look back, and don't stop anywhere in the plain! Flee to the mountains or you will be swept away!

e. Then the Lord rained down burning sulfur on Sodom and Gomorrah--

from the Lord out of the heavens. Gen.19:24

f. Thus he overthrew those cities and the entire plain, including all those living in the cities—

and also the vegetation in the land. Gen.19:25

g. But Lot's wife looked back, and she became a pillar of salt.  Gen.19:26

C. The God of love rejoice doing these! Deu.28:63

1. And it shall come to pass, that, as Jehovah rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you.

2. So Jehovah will rejoice over you to cause you to perish, and to destroy you.

3. And ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou go in to possess it.

4. Then shall the King say unto them on his right hand, Come, ye blessed of my Father,

inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world. Matt.25:34

5. Then shall he say also unto them on the left hand, Depart from me,

ye cursed, into the eternal fire which is prepared for the devil and his angels. Matt.25:41

6. God make sure those do not love truth be in hell! 2Thes.2:10-14 Rev.20:10

D. God is merciful too! Lk.6:36

1. Why demons beg Jesus: Do not torture me? Lk.8:28

2. Why Paul wrote this: It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God. Heb.10:31

3. Why these? Heb.10:28

Anyone who rejected the law of Moses died without mercy on the testimony of two or three witnesses.

4. Watch out for this one: Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away. Matt.24:35

E. Conclusion: Gal.6:7-8

1. Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man sow, that shall he also reap. Gal.6:7

2. For he that sow to his flesh shall of the flesh reap corruption;

but he that sow to the Spirit shall of the Spirit reap life everlasting. Gal.6:8

3. And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Gal.6:9
