Love, what does it mean?

Luke 6:46 "Why do you call me, `Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say?

              (NIV)

1Jn 5:1 Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and

everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. (NIV)

1Jn 5:2 This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God

and carrying out his commands. (NIV)

1Jn 5:3 This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not

        burdensome, (NIV)

1Jn 5:4 for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory

that has overcome the world, even our faith. (NIV)

1Jn 5:3 This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not

        burdensome, (NIV)

1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his

        commandments are not grievous. (ASV)

1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his

        commandments are not grievous. (KJV)

1Co 13:4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast,

         it is not proud. (NIV)

1Co 13:5 It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered,

it keeps no record of wrongs. (NIV)

1Co 13:6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. (NIV)

1Co 13:7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

         (NIV)

1Co 13:8 Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will cease;

where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is

knowledge, it will pass away. (NIV)

Matt 6:33 But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all

these things will be given to you as well. (NIV)

Ac 2:47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord

added to their number daily those who were being saved. (NIV)

Ac 2:47 Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord

added to the church daily such as should be saved. (KJV)

1Co 1:10 I appeal to you, brothers, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,

that all of you agree with one another so that there may be no

divisions among you and that you may be perfectly united in mind

         and thought. (NIV)

Jn 17:20 "My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will

believe in me through their message, (NIV)

Jn 17:21 that all of them may be one, Father, just as you are in me and I am

in you. May they also be in us so that the world may believe that

         you have sent me. (NIV)

Jn 17:22 I have given them the glory that you gave me, that they may be one

         as we are one: (NIV)

let the world know that you sent me and have loved them even as you

         have loved me. (NIV)

Mt 15:7 You hypocrites! Isaiah was right when he prophesied about you:

Mt 15:8 "`These people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far

        from me. (NIV)

Mt 15:9 They worship me in vain; their teachings are but rules taught by

        men.'" (NIV)

Every Sunday I preached about love!

Only those who love the Lord notice it!

This is one perfect test to verify one's faith in the Lord!

I found it is very interesting!

Without say the word love you can feel the love!

Jn 21:15 When they had finished eating, Jesus said to Simon Peter, "Simon

son of John, do you truly love me more than these?" "Yes, Lord," he

said, "you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Feed my lambs."

Jn 21:16 Again Jesus said, "Simon son of John, do you truly love me?" He

answered, "Yes, Lord, you know that I love you." Jesus said, "Take

         care of my sheep." (NIV)

Jn 21:16 He saith to him again a second time, Simon, (son) of John, lovest

thou me? He saith unto him, Yea, Lord; thou knowest that I love

thee. He saith unto him, Tend my sheep. (ASV)

Jn 21:17 He saith unto him the third time, Lovest thou me? And he said unto

him, Lord, thou knowest all things; thou knowest that I love thee.

Jesus saith unto him, Feed my sheep. (ASV)

               are not burdensome, (NIV)

2 John 1:6 And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands.

As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you

               walk in love. (NIV)

        idolatry. (NIV)

and covetousness, which is idolatry: (KJV)

        disobedience: (KJV)

          and destruction. (NIV)

        sword? (ASV)

Ro 8:36 As it is written: "For your sake we face death all day long; we are

considered as sheep to be slaughtered." (NIV)

Ro 8:37 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who

        loved us. (NIV)

Ro 8:38 For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor

demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, (NIV)

1Tim 6:11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after

How do we know which is the love of God or the wrath of God?

A. Chapter 11 recorded examples people who have faith in God!

Ro 2:4 Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and

patience, not realizing that God's kindness leads you toward

       repentance? (NIV)

Ro 2:5 But because of your stubbornness and your unrepentant heart, you are

storing up wrath against yourself for the day of God's wrath, when

his righteous judgment will be revealed. (NIV)

Ro 2:6 God "will give to each person according to what he has done." (NIV)

Ro 2:7 To those who by persistence in doing good seek glory, honor and

immortality, he will give eternal life. (NIV)

Ro 2:8 But for those who are self-seeking and who reject the truth and

follow evil, there will be wrath and anger. (NIV)

Ro 2:9 There will be trouble and distress for every human being who does

evil: first for the Jew, then for the Gentile; (NIV)

Ro 2:10 but glory, honor and peace for everyone who does good: first for the

Jew, then for the Gentile. (NIV)

Ro 2:11 For God does not show favoritism. (NIV)

He 12:1 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of

witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that

so easily entangles, and let us run with perseverance the race

        marked out for us. (NIV)

He 12:2 Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith,

who for the joy set before him endured the cross, scorning its

shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (NIV)

He 12:3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that

you will not grow weary and lose heart. (NIV)

He 12:4 In your struggle against sin, you have not yet resisted to the point

        of shedding your blood. (NIV)

He 12:5 And you have forgotten that word of encouragement that addresses you

as sons: "My son, do not make light of the Lord's discipline, and do

not lose heart when he rebukes you, (NIV)

He 12:6 because the Lord disciplines those he loves, and he punishes

everyone he accepts as a son." (NIV)

He 12:7 Endure hardship as discipline; God is treating you as sons. For what

son is not disciplined by his father? (NIV)

He 12:8 If you are not disciplined (and everyone undergoes discipline), then

you are illegitimate children and not true sons. (NIV)

He 12:9 Moreover, we have all had human fathers who disciplined us and we

respected them for it. How much more should we submit to the Father

of our spirits and live! (NIV)

He 12:10 Our fathers disciplined us for a little while as they thought best;

but God disciplines us for our good, that we may share in his

         holiness. (NIV)

He 12:11 No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on,

however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those

who have been trained by it. (NIV)

He 12:12 Therefore, strengthen your feeble arms and weak knees. (NIV)

He 12:1 Therefore let us also, seeing we are compassed about with so great a

cloud of witnesses, lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth

so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is

        set before us, (ASV)

He 12:2 looking unto Jesus the author and perfecter of (our) faith, who for

the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising shame,

and hath sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. (ASV)

He 12:3 For consider him that hath endured such gainsaying of sinners

against himself, that ye wax not weary, fainting in your souls.

He 12:4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin: (ASV)

He 12:5 and ye have forgotten the exhortation which reasoneth with you as

with sons, My son, regard not lightly the chastening of the Lord,

Nor faint when thou art reproved of him; (ASV)

He 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, And scourgeth every son whom

        he receiveth. (ASV)

He 12:7 It is for chastening that ye endure; God dealeth with you as with

sons; for what son is there whom (his) father chasteneth not? (ASV)

He 12:8 But if ye are without chastening, whereof all have been made

partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. (ASV)

He 12:9 Furthermore, we had the fathers of our flesh to chasten us, and we

gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto

the Father of spirits, and live? (ASV)

He 12:10 For they indeed for a few days chastened (us) as seemed good to

them; but he for (our) profit, that (we) may be partakers of his

         holiness. (ASV)

He 12:11 All chastening seemeth for the present to be not joyous but

grievous; yet afterward it yieldeth peaceable fruit unto them that

have been exercised thereby, (even the fruit) of righteousness.

He 12:12 Wherefore lift up the hands that hang down, and the palsied knees;

He 12:13 and make straight paths for your feet, that that which is lame be

not turned out of the way, but rather be healed. (ASV)

John 16:33 These things have I spoken unto you, that in me ye may have

peace. In the world ye have tribulation: but be of good

cheer; I have overcome the world. (ASV)

Acts 11:19 They therefore that were scattered abroad upon the

tribulation that arose about Stephen travelled as far as

Phoenicia, and Cyprus, and Antioch, speaking the word to none

               save only to Jews. (ASV)

Ro 2:1 Wherefore thou art without excuse, O man, whosoever thou art that

judgest: for wherein thou judges another, thou condemnest

thyself; for thou that judgest dost practise the same things.

Ro 2:2 And we know that the judgment of God is according to truth

against them that practise such things. (ASV)

Ro 2:3 And reckonest thou this, O man, who judgest them that practise

such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the

           judgment of God? (ASV)

Ro 2:4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and

longsuffering, not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee

           to repentance? (ASV)

Ro 2:5 but after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up for

thyself wrath in the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous

           judgment of God; (ASV)

Ro 2:6 who will render to every man according to his works: (ASV)

Ro 2:7 to them that by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor

           and incorruption, eternal life: (ASV)

Ro 2:8 but unto them that are factious, and obey not the truth, but obey

unrighteousness, (shall be) wrath and indignation, (ASV)

Ro 2:9 tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that worketh

evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Greek; (ASV)

Ro 2:10 but glory and honor and peace to every man that worketh good, to

the Jew first, and also to the Greek: (ASV)

Ro 2:11 for there is no respect of persons with God. (ASV)
