A. Recently!
1. At the entrance of a super market a Korean lady gave me a gospel tract!
2. I let my wife do the shopping for food!
I returned to my car to write a few lines in return for her favor!
3. But she was nowhere to be found!
Thank God my wife saw her! She told me she was a Korean lady!
4. I did not pay much attention to the person!
Anytime when things like this happened I feel I am obligated to return their favor!
To me giving a gospel tract is one best good deed on earth!
5. Then I check the English tract! To my surprise!
This is the first a gospel tract I ever received without any contact information!
No phone number, no p. o. box, no any church name!
6. Just a few lines about God’s love! With John 3:16 well written on a well design tract!
B. Another surprise is English Jn.3:16 start with the word God!
1. All English Bible Jn.3:16 start with "For"!
For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
2. Then I thought: Yes, this made sense!
Korean pastor told me Korean Bible was translated from Chinese Bible!
3. Korean believers must translate Chinese Jn.3:16 back to English!
This means they did not check English Bible!
I always check to see whether original text start with the “For”!
They do not even check the English Bible!
4. This is one thing I never do in my 60 years of preaching!
In English I use English Bible in Chinese I use Chinese Bible!
I often check word for word translations!
5. To me salvation of the soul is much more important than salvation of the body!
The soul is eternal, body is temporary! Heb.9:27
C. Bible on body and soul!
1. The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham's side.
The rich man also died and was buried. Lk.16:22
2. In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side.
So he called to him: Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in
water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire. Lk.16:23-24
3. The dust returns to the ground it came from, and the spirit returns to God who gave it. Ecc.12:7
4. The soul who sins is the one who will die.
The son will not share the guilt of the father, nor will the father share the guilt of the son.
The righteousness of the righteous man will be credited to him,
and the wickedness of the wicked will be charged against him. Eze.18:20
5. And the devil, who deceived them, was thrown into the lake of burning sulfur, where the beast and the
false prophet had been thrown. They will be tormented day and night for ever and ever. Rev.20:10
6. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world;
but that the world through him might be saved. Jn.3:17
7. For we that are in this tabernacle do groan, being burdened:
not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon, that mortality might be swallowed up of life. 2Cor.5:4
C. Saving the soul I am dead serious!
1. Peace on earth? Save the soul first!
2. For therein is revealed a righteousness of God from faith unto faith:
As it is written: But the righteous shall live by faith. Ro.1:17
3. My little children, these things write I unto you that ye may not sin.
And if any man sin, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the righteous:
and he is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for the whole world. 1Jn.2:1-2
4. Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus.
By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, his body. Heb.10:19-20
***The vail is his body! Do you all understand?
